I have also used Dr. Chesney's advice in the book about treating acute tick bites with herbs and homeopathic remedies by putting together a first aid kit, just in case. I have had occasion to use my kit for family members that come to visit Vermont.
The book can get a little technical at times, but the constructive suggestions for staying healthy are worth the effort of working through the challenging parts. It is worth the effort to feel relaxed and enjoy the pleasure of being outdoors without worry... again.
Disclosure: I am a co-worker of Dr. Chesney, and have the privilege of watching her clients recover from Lyme and other tick-borne disease. She is a skilled practitioner, but still prefers prevention over treatment, as treatment can be lengthy and expensive.
