About the Author

Once upon a time, there was an unhappy civil engineer living in New York, who hated his job. More than anything else, he simply wanted the freedom to live true to his self. So, he followed his passion, started a series of sideline businesses, made enough money to quit his job, escaped the rat race, ran off to a tropical island in the Pacific, and created a tourism business so he could give tours of the island to pretty ladies every day and see the world. He now lives his happily reinvented, dream life as a “nomadpreneur” somewhere in a land far away….and writes about it in the award-nominated “Jamaican in China” blog.

This is the second of Walt's books that I have read. I liked this book because it helped me to reaffirm some things that I already knew about myself. I am in the military and before I joined, I watched Zeitgeist which was pretty much a red pill/ rabbit hole moment for me, yet I joined anyways out of economic gain. Not doing what does not resonate with your soul seemed to be the ongoing theme in this book. Even though I remain in the military and am soon to leave it I know that I will never return under my own volution to take an officer position because who could I lead other men into doing something that I myself do not believe in. We live in the information age and the reason we remain embroiled in these protracted occupations (i.e. wars) is for domination of resources, territory and other assets. Why would I continue to do this knowing full and well theses truths?

Empowering and Awakening!

I've just read this book and highly recommend it, along with Walt's other main title "Turn Your Passion Into Profit". Both books make a nice package and complement each other. This book is VERY empowering, motivating and inspiring. It's also a spiritual book as well, with many awakening concepts that are in line with my articles as well.

It's the kind of book that aligns your consciousness with your will, so that you can live more freely and consciously, in accord with who you are and whatever your calling is. It also identifies social and psychological traps that we've fallen into, so that they no longer pose a hindrance to us.

You've all heard the saying, "Do what you love. The money will follow." Well this book is the epitome of that. Once you read it, you will understand more than ever the wisdom behind that saying. It's true in more ways than you might think. You see, if you only live to work, then you don't have a true purpose in life. The most authentic lifestyle is to follow your passion, and make a living while doing that. That is the TRUE way to live true to yourself and live freely. This book will help you do that, in many ways.

Walt is one of the few gifted writers who understands this inner transformation one must go through to change one's life, because he too, has had to undergo a transformation in consciousness in order to live a life of freedom, authenticity and abundance. You see, changing your life is more than just about doing practical how-to steps in the physical world. One must move from a state of being locked in fear and limitation into one of abundance, possibility. That requires a transformation in consciousness, for true freedom begins in the mind. At that point, the inner change will manifest into the outer.

I would definitely put this book in the MUST READ category. It's the kind of book that changes lives.

"Living True to Yourself" a gem!

I just finished reading (in one long, engaging sitting) Walt Goodridge's masterpiece "Living True to Yourself." Inspiring, brave and life-confirming. Not a situational or personal truth, this book is THE universal truth about what it takes to be a genuinely real and congruent human being. This book will challenge you on every level and yet will remind you at every turn that you are up to the challenge. Cannot recommend this enlightened work highly enough.
