The book investigates Google Places and a few other major places to put your local business in the listings. I have only read the first half of the book and gotten several great Internet marketing ideas. The book is about 83 pages so I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. But a short book is faster to digest and use in practical business situations. This is the only highly recommended book on the subject that I found on Amazon.com.
This is good intro and intermediate Internet marketing material. I expect some advanced material will emerge in 2011 since the topic is relatively new and powerful. Did I mention that Local Search Marketing can be very profitable and requires very little investment in dollars? There are both national (such as by Google and Yahoo) local listing sites, and regional ones (such as for the Dallas/Ft. Worth area) and sites for specialties (such as medical services in Missouri); with reviews from customers.
Everything is detailed, step-by-step, so even someone without a lot of experience in the world of search engines and websites can easily use her techniques. I highly recommend this book!
