Bought 2 of these on amazon on an account I don't leave reviews on.

I am so happy with this CPU cooler, I just had to leave a review.

My latest custom computer builds were a nightmare to find decent CPU cooling solutions for.

Was going to go with a closed loop water cooling with a a few of the corsair products but didn't like how rough and unfinished their heat transfer plates were (could file my nails with them), all the cheap plastic they used, and the fact that water cooling adds extra points of failure to a computer.

Then I wanted to go with the popular coolermaster 212 air cooler but did not like the looks of the top of the heat sink having the ugly crimped heat pipes sticking out and the thin mounting back plate.

Then I found this, it has 6 heat pipes and a cover plate over the crimped ends as well as a mirror polished base. Was even able to take the cover plate off with the 4 small screws holding it on and custom paint it to match the custom Corsair c70 military style cases I was using.

Then bought another one for another c70 case computer I was building as well.

In the corsair c70 cases with this cooler, with a socket 1150 4690k i5 and 4790k i7 devil's canyon CPU idle both chips run around 30c, and at load under 1 hour stress testing will hold steady at around 50-60c for both chips. Mounted with arctic silver 5 and the "single line method" with the motherboard already in the case (the c70 has a big cutout in the back of the case on the motherboard backside that made this very easy, otherwise you would need to mount it to the motherboard before putting in the case if you do not have a cutout back there).

great cooler, 6 heat pipes, shorter than the Hyper 212 evo, cools better than than the CM Hyper 212 evo, awesome looking!!!!
this is a great alternative if you're looking for something under the 160mm case barrier in cpu tower style heat sinks.
