The controller was cheap and worked perfectly, but beware this simple controller has too few buttons to satisfy certain games' mapping requirements.

LEGO Batman, for example, is a game that accepts a limited number of controls when the input device is a keyboard (according to the READ ME, a keyboard cannot access subtle movement features like "tiptoe"). Connect this particular gamepad and LEGO Batman recognizes it properly by name, yet frustratingly, demands 19 inputs/buttons be assigned in order to continue, which is impossible since the model has only 10 buttons and the D-pad. Again the READ ME suggests a "dual analog gamepad" for the best experience, but really, in the case of Logitech's basic controller you'll have zero experience using it with LEGO Batman. Yes I know if you're tenacious enough scouring the Interwebz you might have luck running a clever hack that can aid in mapping the controls, but these mostly seem to be game-specific and who knows what else you might get along with it.

My advice is to keep the money you were going to spend on this, toss in a little more, and get the best controller (hint: starts with an X and ends with a 360) you can afford.

I bought this controller for emulation gaming and after spending about 30 hours with it, I am very pleased with it.

Although it is designed like a Playstation controller, I found that it really excelled as an SNES controller. Mapping the "Freeze" and "Defrost" buttons to the bottom-most shoulder-buttons made saving and reloading an absolute breeze!

The four "circle buttons" took quite a beating due to lots of grinding on SECRET OF MANA, but they are still holding up very well.

The direction pad worried me at first, because it seemed a bit loose, but after trying it out on a few different games, it's solid enough to guide your character/vehicle where you want it to go. I did find it a bit difficult to control characters in fighting games, where precise combos have to be executed.

The controller comes with a cord that is actually longer than most will probably need. If you're playing on a laptop one is usually no more than a foot or two away from the screen anyways.

This controller is "plug and play" with OS X Leopard. No special software needed.

My only negative is that the controller does seem really small and I myself have pretty small hands. If you can grip a basketball with one hand (I sure can't) then I think you'll have a hard time getting used to this controller.

For the very low price that they're offering this controller, I think it's a bargain, especially if you're into emulation gaming.

Not since the 1992 Gravis Gamepad have I used such a solid controller. As in one that actually works without any extra frills. The Logitech Precision has many more buttons and a USB interface. So, in addition to the D-pad on the left and the four-button cluster on the right there are also two buttons in the middle that can be configured as "select" and "start" buttons. Above the D-pad and the button cluster are two extra buttons on top for extra options. They're like the extra buttons on a SNES gamepad but there are more of them.

The only problem is remember what to use the buttons for. But, since this is a fully digital controller, all buttons can be programmed for whatever you like. It all depends on the game support.

When compared to Micro$quish's budget SideWinder controller this one is by far superior and doesn't suffer from the design drawback of rotating the D-pad where if you press down your on-screen character does move down and not diagonal. The price is very good as well. For oldskool gaming, such as NES and Doom gaming, it gets the job done. Highly recommended!

First the controller came in molded plastic packaging that was a pain to open. The cheap plastic controller got nicked in a few places as I struggled to open the packaging.

When I opened it, the controller installed painlessly on my Vista machine, which was a relief as Vista seems to enjoy fighting peripherals now and then.

There was one button that acts flaky (button 6) but otherwise all the buttons work and it does the job. I use it to play Madden 2008 and it does the job.

Overall, it's ten dollars and if you are on a tight budget, it's a good controller for the price. If you can afford better, I would recommend getting better, but this is worth the mere ten bucks you pay for it.

I got it to work on my MacBook Pro but there weren't enough programmable buttons for the Lego games my nephew plays. The game won't play unless all actions are assigned to a button so this is useless. Disappointing because the only action that couldn't be assigned was Pause Game. Really? Sending it back and trying another one with more buttons.

Exactly what I wanted -- a D-pad to play SNES games with. It works perfectly for that purpose, and has a couple extra buttons to use for whatever. Rapid fire? Macros? Up to you. Anyway, it was what I wanted, and performs well.

Worked for about 4 days, then broke. Won't work anymore. Contacted Logitech, since I'd registered the thing there. No help from them. So if you buy this, you're screwed. Waste of money.
