I bought two bluetooth speakers at the same time: this one, and a Photive PH-BTW55 HYDRA. This one was more expensive, but in every way, I'm much happier with the Photive.
Both are similarly loud. But the Photive is water and dust proof, has a much better battery life, and is better quality in several ways.
This speaker has substantial battery issues. One obvious problem with that is it doesn't last long when not plugged in. But there are other effects, such as the device turns off when you play it at loud volumes and it's not plugged in (the battery can't handle the power needed to play at the top volume levels when not plugged in). Also, the already inferior battery life on this speaker quickly deteriorated, whereas the Photive speaker uses a lithium ion battery that lasted well over twice as long when new, and has had very little loss to its life since.
Another issue with the Logitech is that when played at the top volume, the bass was always a little too much for the speaker, causing a distorted sound. A couple months into owning the Logitech, one of the speakers blew out, and now music at all levels is distorted. They should have used speakers that could handle the volume level of the device.
It's disappointing a company as well known as Logitech would use inferior speakers and inferior batteries. There are better options than this speaker.
