Again, the headset does deserve credit where it is due: it is a great headset when it is working properly. I am simply disappointed in the lack of quality in the build as it's failed twice, and this would not really be an issue for me if the customer service was something to be happy with. However, as it is probably obvious to those of you reading by now, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Both times I opened a ticket with them about the two separate failures they took well over a week to reply, even after trying to escalate. Thankfully the first time around I had a backup headset, but it was old and has failed now.
After finally replying this time, where I made it very, very clear it was a hardware issue and not a software issue or configuration issue or a driver issue, they still replied giving me all the advice I had quite literally just told them I attempted already. My issue this time is that the mic only works if it is in a very specific position which is a real pain in the a**. I made it very clear, but it is obvious to me that they do NOT read the tickets. Whether this is due to high volume or simply lack of caring, either answer is less than stellar. They did finally offer to RMA it after about a month of waiting, but again, did not read any questions I had as I was asking things in our back and forth (assuming it's not just a bot/copy paste, which it certainly seems to be). I asked if it was possible to do some form of advance exchange RMA and they completely ignored it, more than likely as they did not read it. Totally unacceptable, regardless of the answer.
The answer, if you couldn't guess by now based on the rest of their service, is no. They require you to send it in and essentially wait 3-4 weeks to get it back. I can't knock them for this too much as many companies still do this, but more and more companies are offering advance exchange RMAs even if they require your card number in the case of not sending it back in time, so the inconvenience isn't there. I use the headset for work/personal use and it will force me to buy a new headset in the interim, or do something like that to bridge me through until I get it back. At this point I will likely buy another headset and just keep the RMA'd one as a backup, because I am sick of trying with their service. It really has been frustrating.
I will also give a list of Pros/Cons as far as when it is working, as my goal isn't entirely to rag on the product, more the service and the fact that it has failed 2 times which has completely removed any possibility of purchasing a Logitech headset in the future.
Pros:
- Good sound quality (though see below update for newer info on this)
- Simple to set up/use
- Easy to understand and use controls
- Good system for hardware muting
- Easily customizable RGB lighting, though this is pretty standard at this level today
- Simple to travel with due to the dongle being stored in the headset itself
Cons:
- Range could be better, especially if there are walls between you and the dongle. Not a terrible range, but can be frustrating as sometimes if you are 10-15ft away you can only hear if you turn your head in the proper direction.
- Plates covering the battery/USB dongle holder are a little loose and can pop off at times if bumped
- Will make a noise every time you change the volume, or every time it is quiet for a few seconds and sound plays again soon. This is to save battery but the notification of it turning on/off can be pretty annoying at times
- I find that they can start to fall off of your head easily forcing you to catch them as it is kind of a loose fit, even if you have it tight around your head. Ear cups don't really stay tight around the ears, but this is due to it being for comfort, which it does succeed at
That's about it for this review. Hopefully I don't sound too sour, but it is definitely worth noting how poor the service is and how likely you are to struggle getting any good support if something goes wrong, which again, in my personal experience has been much more likely than it should. I could definitely be the outlier but from a subjective point of view from my personal experience, I would rate this a 1 overall simply because it now feels like a waste of money.
UPDATE:
I wanted to drop by as it seems this review has gotten some attention and add a bit more information. As much as I would love to rate this higher and give a great success story, I have ultimately given up on the headset. Once I got the replacement discussed above, I let it sit in the box for a while as I did indeed get another headset as a replacement for it just to keep this one as a backup. I eventually started using it again due to issues with the other (non-Logitech) headset (it never ends!) and it worked fine... for a while. It is still in working condition and I am NOT looking for a new one or another RMA, but here is my experience with Artemis Spectrum G933 #3:
After about one month of use it appears that the headset's mic quality is just terrible. All of my friends would complain or comment about it when talking in VoIP services. The headset also has a frequent buzzing/ticking of a clock type noise in the left earcup. The noise is subtle and not really a problem when other sounds are playing, but again, it speaks to me to the quality as I'm on the 3rd one! Between these 2 issues I am simply done buying Logitech headsets; I've had too many problems with them. Unfortunately I would steer clear.
Personally I ended up buying a Blue Yeti Blackout edition so I could get far superior mix quality (which, to be fair, is expected with a desktop mic anyway) and stop relying on the mic on this damned headset! I am still using it for sound pretty often and I am tempted to up it to 2 stars because I clearly find some use from it, but I must say that I regret the purchase and for that reason I am leaving it as a 1. Hopefully future headsets will be far superior, but I won't ever know.
Pros:
- Good sound. Fits both for listening music and gaming (nice option switching the 7.1 technology between Dolby / DTS Headphone X).
- Great battery time, 12 hours as promised with LEDs off.
- Nice mic, sound is clear and without white noise.
- Programmable buttons. I needed only one though for PTT in voice chats, no idea how to put them to another use.
- Software: LEDs, buttons, equalizer, ability to adjust the sidetone for mic.
- The headset is adjustable, the cushions are comfortable and provide a decent noise isolation
- The construction seems pretty sturdy. Had Steelseries Siberia v2, they didn't look very solid from the beginning.
- Price. Got it for $102, very nice for this price.
Cons:
- Head cushion came off on one side after putting the headset on for the first time
- Distance is a bit low, already lagging in another room (1 wall, 12 feet away)
- Speakers make a weird and pretty loud click sound when headset is waking up
- Buttons take time to adjust, the volume regulator is kind of too much sensitive
The cons really don't matter when the headset is in use, so I'm not paying attention to them.
---
Update.
After a year of usage, here are my further comments:
- Battery life is almost as good as a year ago, and that's nice
- Head and ear cushions are still soft and haven't gone flat
- The joint on the right cup has developed a really annoying creaking sound, which is (thankfully) not present once you put the headset on and don't wobble your head too much
- If you wake up the device while the PC is playing sound, the headset will go silent until you reboot it

The headset occasionally stops working then resets on its own. This leaves me with around 15 seconds of silence. There are frequent updates that keep patching the same thing. I've had to update my headset in order to fix a bug where the mic wouldn't be off after being pulled down around 5 times. The head pain issues went away after a while but seem to come back occasionally.
Finally, the reason why I'm giving the headset two stars is the microphone. It just stopped working. One minute it's working, then after a while headset stops working for an hour. After several restarts, I can hear my friends again. But when I pulled the mic down, no sounds indicated the mic turning on played. I pulled it back up and silence. I can't talk to anyone. The mic is simply not working. I spent $150 on a headset that lasted me a month. Whereas my brothers bought a turtle beach set that has been working since the beginning of December.
I'm keeping this review short.
I've had this headset for a day so here are my initial observations.
Sound quality is great, and so is the surround system.
Buttons on the headset are useless.
The headset will bruise the top of your head. It's terrible cushioned. I tried putting socks and folded tissue papers to help but still can't get rid of the headache.
Mic quality is good, and the mic also tucks away.
The charging cable is long, which is useful if you want to keep using the headset when it needs to charge.
At this price range, I was disappointed when I received a device that would dig into my skull. So I'm going to give it a 4 star. This is assuming that the headset doesn't break after a month or 2
If I could give this product a 0 I would, I am more disappointed with logitech than I believed I could be seeing as I have always enjoyed their products. I am not someone who just hates Logitech as I use their G910 kb, G502 mouse, G13 gamepad, and my wife uses their G910 kb, G13 gamepad, and G600 mouse, I honestly did not think they had it in them to make a product this absolutely horrible. I have since replaced it with a HyperX Cloud headset and I recommend that absolutely no one buy this.
