This is used for Microsoft Flight Sim 40th Anniversary Edition. It's heavy with a large base, solidly built, and it doesn't feel like a toy. It's got a rubber sleeve around the base of the handle to stop dust from entering the mechanism and rubber feet under each corner to stop sliding on my wood desk.
The throttle slider is quite smooth with resistance so it doesn't move accidentally. In fact it's so smooth, I guarantee you will NOT need to waste money on a throttle quadrant with this stick. In fact, I've never used one in all my time in MS Flight Sim going back to the beginning.
Buttons are all solid including the trigger which has a "single-action" short pull. There's no "play" in the stick. It feels like the real thing.
Note: It's built to use right-handed to the right of the keyboard in an Airbus First Officer position and has an ergonomic palm rest built-in just for that purpose, but I still use it to the left of the keyboard in what would be the Airbus Captain position and just use a lighter touch by resting the weight of my forearm on the desk rather than holding the joystick high so it takes all the weight. You can still rest your thumb on the palm rest if it's easier. I've been using it with an A320neo and it's quite smooth. Landings are easy due to the solid feel and responsiveness. Treating this with care and being gentle with it (like you would with a real plane yoke which only takes 2 fingers to fly), I expect this should last a long time> I'll be getting another if it ever breaks.
I use the game auto-settings for the sensitivity of the stick and find it perfect at ~ 50%. You can easily customize the buttons to different functionalities (cameras, control surfaces, etc) that might be easier for you to remember than the defaults. For a joystick this solid and smooth, it's a great price point!
