Ergonomically this mouse was not designed for my hand. The palm/knuckle section of the mouse sits very high, and feels awkward. The back/forward buttons are placed in a very awkward position that almost requires me to move my hand to get at them, I can't just roll my thumb over them anymore.
The worst issue I've been running into is with the "logitech options" software and it's pointer speed settings. Even at the highest speed the mouse is VERY slow. The only workaround I've found for this is to shut off the logitech software in task manager and set the mouse speed in "mouse properties" in the windows control panel (if you do not shut off the logitech software it will overwrite your settings). If you opt to shut off the Logitech software it will disable functionality like the middle button click, back/forward buttons, and the horizontal scroll wheel.
I work with 2 laptops and 3 screens. Bought this mouse and the K850 keyboard to quickly switch between laptops/screens. Ran into some design issues with this mouse:
1. The button to switch laptops is on the bottom of the mouse so you can't quickly switch on the fly. You have to turn the mouse over and press the button with other hand every time you want to swap devices. Other Logitech Flow mice such as the M720 Triathlon have the button on the top within easy reach.
2. This is a big mouse (palm design) and pretty heavy. I prefer a smaller mouse that's also better for travel. The M720 Triathlon is smaller and lighter.
3. Laser didn't respond well to my hard mouse pad
4. The gesture button is nearly impossible to press. It was so hard that I didn't even know it was there. Trying to program commands with this button was futile.
What I liked about this mouse was the power supply. You can recharge without having to replace AA batteries. Wish more mice were like this.
TIP: If you're using a Logitech Flow mouse, install the Flow software first and then connect the mouse via Bluetooth. I did it the other way around and had to reconnect my mouse.
I liked this mouse so much that I recently bought a second one and brought it in to use at my workstation in the office the other 4 days of the week. I'd had a previous generation "Performance Mouse MX" there for several years. That was comfortable and still worked, but the battery was weakening to the point I had to charge it at least every other day. Rather than replace the cheap, off-the-shelf battery, I decided to treat myself to the same model mouse at both work locations and bought another MX Master. I know there's a newer model out, but I tried them both in a local big-box electronics store before buying the first one, and I found the in-hand feel of this model to be superior and I didn't need any of the new features of the more expensive 2S.
I work in IT by day and I'm a casual gamer by night, so I'm picky about and hard on my gear. Logitech has never let me down and they're the only brand I even look at anymore for mice, keyboards, and headsets.
tl;dr: This is by far my favorite mouse that I've ever used for non-gaming purposes.
Have to say, this is the best mouse I ever had.
I used to work with Logitech G Pro, which got RGB light and DPI switch. It’s good but it’s wired.
Since I spend lots of time working on two systems simultaneously, I really need a mouse to work cross platform. And this MX master is a perfect solution.
It uses Bluetooth + 2.4 G for wireless connection and switch between devices effortlessly.
The ergonomic shape perfectly matches my hand palm, and my thumb can finally find a place to rest on.
I think the exterior is mostly plastic, but the painted color and shape makes it looks (and feels) expensive.
Another thing I really like about is the electromagnetic hovering middle button. When activated it could literally spin on FOREVER, which is soooo cool. With a click you can turn it off and back to ratcheting mode, with more precision.
Overall, Great Job Logitech!

1 - The device selection button on the MX is at the bottom of the mouse as opposed to being a side button like on the M720. The M720 made is so much easier to switch device. With the MX, I have to flip the mouse and press the button.
2 - The M720 has an internal slot to store the USB received when you don't need it. Being a bluetooth mouse, I mostly use bluetooth so it's handy being able to store the receiver so you don't lose it.
3 - The M720 uses 1 AA battery that lasts for months. The MX is rechargeable. If you forget to plug it in and the battery runs out, you'll have to use it as a wired mouse while it is charging. With the M720, I just replace the AA battery and I'm back to work (which lasts for months).
What I really like about the MX that the M720 does not have:
1 - The side wheel is quite awesome when set to scroll left and right. Very handy for large spreadsheets or long lines of code.
The MX has the back and forward buttons right on top of each other. It can be tricky to press the right one you want and you'll misclick a few times until you get a feel for them. And it can be frustrating.
The MX is larger than the M720 and I find it more comfortable.
The wheel on the MX doesn't have side clicks (the M720 does), but it's compensated by the side scroll wheel which I much prefer for scrolling horizontally (my main use).
Just because of the side scroll wheel, I think I prefer the MX over the M720.
This is not the case with this mouse. Very comfortable for my large hand.
I like that you can disable the smart shift of the scroll wheel. The horizontal scroll is placed correctly too.
The reason for the missing star:
The Performance MX had a 3 year warranty
The MX Master 1 has a 2 years warranty (this one)
The MX Master 3 has a 1 year warranty
You see a pattern here ?
Sadly some software feature are missing and Its exactly the same software as the MX 3 so its limitation made by logitech like those :
-I cannot map the scroll mode button to change the mouse speed/precision
-I cannot map the horizontal scroll to the brush size of photoshop or anything like that when creating per app profile.
The MX 3 is configured this way in the Option software by default and has several profile already available. They did not make those options and profile for this mouse you have to create them yourself with very limited option. This mouse use the same software/version yet a lot of feature are missing for a mouse almost identical but better suited for large hands. Logitech if you want to limit functionality to force people to buy your latest flagship mouse make it available in the same size has its predecessor !!!

My one issue with this mouse is - why in the world did they make the forward and back page buttons so dang small and so close to each other!? My previous Logitech Performance MX mouse had a much better layout but on the new one the buttons are very poorly placed. I'm always clicking the wrong one.

For gaming, this mouse is pretty good. A few more buttons would be ideal if you plan on using this as a dedicated gaming mouse but it does the job better than most mice for a casual gamer.
