The keyboard:- The logitech-brand Brown keys were a bit noisier than I expected. From my limited experience, this keyboard seems a little louder than cherry-brand browns, but quieter than blues. Not sure how it compares to reds. Typists with a gentler touch may find it's quiet enough. I like the tactile + auditory response, so it works for me; if you/your officemates are sensitive to noise, you might want something with cherry browns or "silent"-style keys instead.- Construction seems sturdy enough, no issues yet. My first order survived getting partly crushed in shipping with no obvious external damage.- The font / symbols on the keys took a little getting used to. (e.g. [A] = caps lock, PS = Print Screen)- As for lighting, I wanted something simple, so I appreciate that there's no colors, it's straightforward to brighten/darken, and the funkier lighting patterns are optional.- So far, the mechanical keys feel comfortable for typing; I use it for work (a mix of longform typing and lots of keyboard shortcuts), and noticed my typing speed has improved using this keyboard over my old Apple "magic keyboard." The larger keys and longer travel distance (how far you push the keys down) seem to help and feel more comfy.My main beef: Amazon shipping.Not sure if this is standard practice for this website or item, but my order was shipped in the product box only, no outer packaging or cushioning. I see a few issues with this:- If the packaging is damaged in shipping, as mine was, then the item itself is directly impacted. My order was partly crushed / stepped on in transit--hard enough that the keys left deep indents on the inside cardboard. The keyboard showed no obvious damage, but I don't know if this impacted the keyboard's internal mechanisms or lifespan. I returned it, since I didn't want to risk running into issues later.- The product packaging had instructional materials printed on it (e.g. how to turn the lights on&off). The shipping label covered some of these instructions. Not helpful.I returned my first order for a refund and purchased from a different retailer, who sent the box inside of a larger box, nicely padded. Much better.All in all, I think this is a solid choice for a budget mechanical keyboard, as long as you're not too picky about noise. I can not recommend this website as the seller, however.
