I've had this now for a few weeks. The Logitech Mobile Freedom Bluetooth headset is lightweight and fits comfortably on my ear. It's not the smallest headset out there, which is a good thing, I think. Because of its size, which is still diminutive, it covers the ear nicely and provides an ample speaker.
The sound quality is good, though sometimes its connection can be dicey. I don't know if this is due to the phone or the headset. There have been several times that when I put on the headset to answer a call, they are no longer paired. They were paired just a couple minutes ago and haven't been further apart than left and right pockets.
Another thing that drives me crazy is that the volume always returns to the lowest setting so that each time I answer a call, it takes several seconds of turning the volume up before I can hear the caller.
Operation is simple and straightforward. It doesn't have a bunch of features, so there isn't much you have to commit to memory in order to use this. What it does, for the most part, it does well. I did not want something complex and, therefore, expensive. If you just want a headset that works fairly well without a bunch of bells and whistles at an affordable price, then this may be the choice for you.
Update 9/29/06: I've had mine for about three months now. I've had none of the issues mentioned by others regarding battery life or the charging cycle. There are some flaws which I find to be very annoying:
1) Seems like every time I answer a call, the volume has dropped to zero and I have to adjust it upwards, which takes at least a couple seconds. This small amount of time seems like an eternity while I'm repeatedly saying "hello," because I can't hear the caller. I know I mentioned this previously, but the more I have to deal with it the angrier I become. This alone has caused me to start looking around for a different headset.
2) It always manages to turn itself off or on or trigger the voice activation feature whenever I keep this in my pocket. I wish the button was located differently or recessed so that it would get depressed all the time.
1) The "multi-function" button is what you use to control every aspect of the headset with the exception of the volume - there is a rocker button for the volume. The problem is the multi-function button is also the status light (its kind of built into the button - which has a clear top and can blink in multiple colors) which tells you what is happening with the unit at any given time. For instance - if the unit is off and you want to turn it on, you push down on the multi-function button for four seconds - or until the status light blinks 4 times --- BUT YOU CAN'T SEE THE STATUS LIGHT BECAUSE YOU FINGER IS HOLDING IT DOWN!!! - STUPID! The same thing happens when you turn it off. The same thing happens when you want to change any function - you hold the button down and you get a flashing light in multiple colors - but you can't see it. You're only alternitive is to use your nail to press down on half of the little button exposing a small portion of the status light.
2) They should have put a power switch on this thing. I don't know - if you are a heavy user and leave it on all the time this is a non-issue. But for me, I turn in on when I get in the car and off when I get out - to perserve battery life. And to sit there and hold the button until this thing flashes at you is a bummer - yeah, I know its only 4 seconds - but if its off and my phone starts ringing - I have to grab for the headset - hold down the multi-function button for 4 seconds, then put in on my ear and talk - and almost 10 seconds and four rings have gone by - almost to the point where voicemail is ready to pick up. Just a little power switch ON or OFF would have been nice.
3) Regular AAA batteries would have been nice. Because now you have to bring this into the house to charge it all the time - or if you are traveling you have to bring the charger with you. No such thing as carrying a spare battery when you make it built in like this.
OTHER THAN THAT.... its works well - the audio quality is good - its nice and loud - my phone found it and accepted it as its own right from the start - and I'm not returning it.
