Bad construction but if it works, it's fine for confined setups
This product is good for people who want subwoofer speakers but need a small unit. The desk in the photo measures roughly 2.5 feet from left to right, with a desktop right next to it. I would not recommend that you purchase this unless you are as limited in space like that. Most of the wires will have enough room to go from table to desktop port, but the power switch is a little shorter than I would prefer. It still works because if you have a compact workstation; you will be able to macgyver some sort of setup.Sound quality is OK. I was mostly looking for bass and find it satisfactory. However, this is no audiophile's setup. Physical sitting range of hearing is limited. Plain talking, such as YouTube videos, sounds clear but muted if that makes sense. At the same time, cranking the volume all the way up causes strain: The quality of intelligible sound becomes muffled despite overall noises getting louder. This would be fine if you wanted to listen to music while doing something else from 10 feet away, but I don't think it's enjoyable from 20-30 feet away.My unit came with a defective right satellite speaker, hence the bad construction. Two months in, the right speaker stopped working. I found that if I jiggled it and randomly mashed it around the point where the wire enters the subwoofer, then the sound returned. I can turn the speakers to specifically point left or right without issue, so the source of hocus pocus lies within the subwoofer. I avoid touching it at all costs. Furthermore, I suspect on some days that the sound from the right speaker is slightly lower than the left speaker. On other days, they are equally loud. I thought that I would have had to replace these not too long after discovering the right speaker defect, but it is still functioning over 2 years later (knock on wood).

For less than $28 shipped via Prime? This speaker setup is fantastic! I was also looking at the Z313, but for having more power, the subwoofer volume didn't appear to be adjustable. This Z213 has a volume dial on the sub which is perfect for my office. I can have external speakers and the sub is icing on the cake, but I had to be sure that the sub itself wouldn't be to boomy. Quite frankly, I see having a volume control for the subwoofer being a poor-man's EQ.
The satellite speakers only have a single, sealed 2" driver, but they are crisp without being overly harsh and have decent midrange. The subwoofer does very well with just a 4" driver. They have an excellent sound for this price range! Any speakers in this price range without a dedicated sub just won't compare in the fullness of the sound provided by the addition of the sub.

I have my computer audio volume set at 50% and the speakers are probably at 20% which is plenty loud enough for me to hear both the satellites and a little thump from the subwoofer. I turned down the sub just to hear what the satellites do on their own. Verdict, the sub definitely does it job!

I especially like the remote volume dial. It have it placed just a couple inches above the top-left of my keyboard. I can quickly slide my hand over and make quick, subtle volume adjustments as needed. For me, this is quicker than using my mouse to slide the volume on the Windows speaker icon and it's more precise than using hotkeys on my keyboard to adjust volume.
There's also the headphone jack on the base so if I need to go completely silent but still have my tunes, the headphone jack is right there for a quick hookup. The system auto-senses when something is plugged in and immediately shuts off the external speakers.

These speakers are fantastic. They sound great and the subwoofer is surprisingly powerful. The sound is clear, crisp, and strong when it needs to be. I thought the speakers seemed a bit weak given their size and weight, but they do not disappoint at all. Even the subwoofer looked small to me, but it delivers great bass.

I use these on my PS4 setup, which is hooked up to a computer monitor via an HDMI to VGA converter, which has an audio jack built in; as my monitor has no port or built-in speakers, this is where I plug the Z213 in. I note this because I cannot adjust the volume as liberally as one might on a traditional computer (which I assume most people would use these for), yet I can crank up the volume on the control pod without compromising the sound quality. It's possible that it can still perform well past the limits I am restricted to, but I've not tested that for fear of breaking something.

All of that being said, I did have an issue with the set I received initially. After about two weeks of use, sound in one of the speakers cut out intermittently (just the satellite speakers, nothing to do with the subwoofer; that was fine). It would be working, and then all of a sudden, it would stop. Several hours later, it started up again. When setting them up, I was very careful not to damage anything, so something in the wiring was likely the issue. I say this because the speaker that went out wasn't the one that had all of the main cables going into it; it was the one speaker that had one wire going into it, connecting it to the speaker that had everything going into it.

I approached Logitech directly after checking everything I possibly could myself - the state of the speakers, the connection points, visible damage, etc. They were very formal and requested information on my specific set - which I provided - and also questioned me on the basics. They asked me about checking the connections, both between the components in the set and with my device (PS4) and other related questions. After informing them that everything was correct and there was no damage, they issued a replacement, which was sent out the same week at no charge whatsoever.

Really, you have nothing to lose with this product and everything to gain. It's a great set for a small gaming setup (like mine) and absolutely perfect for a computer setup, especially if you watch a lot of movies on it. Plus, you can't beat the price for two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. If you experience problems, just spend a little time talking to Logitech customer support and they will gladly help you out. This product comes highly recommended!

Don’t expect movie theater quality audio, however for a budget sound system it hits the mark. The Sub generates good bass, and both speakers provide more than enough volume for a desktop experience, although the low price is evident in the occasional graininess of the audio quality.

      Things to be aware of:
-the cord from the two speaker to the sub is just big enough to have the speakers on either side of a monitor and go straight down to the sub.
-the plug from the speakers has a sweet spot in the jack on the sub, if it’s not turned a certain way, or loose your audio quality will suffer and you may lose audio from one of the desktop speakers. This can be especially problematic if you have a cat/dog that likes to hangout under your desk and brush past your cords.
-the biggest drawback for me is that the bass level knob is on the back of the sub and not the desktop volume controller/headphone jack. So if you basically have to be in reach of the sub whenever your sitting at your desk if you want to adjust the bass.

TLDR: it ain’t perfect but it’s 10x better than any integrated speakers on a monitor

Soy cliente satisfecho.

Hesitant to purchase, but I just needed something cheap for my new desktop, since I planned on using my headphones most of the time anyway. The quality was a bit weird at first, but now they sound just fine facing straight out to the sides. There is enough bass for a bedroom. I often have the sub turned down or off so I don't bother the people downstairs. I even keep the volume down most of the time too. At 13% I can hear them outside my door, leaving plenty of headroom. The wires are a bit short, but I have a tiny computer desk that was just meant for my laptop, so it wasn't really an issue for me. Overall, I'd say the quality for the price is definitely worth it, especially if you mostly use headphones like me, though I've been using my headphones less since buying these.

4.0 out of 5 stars The subwoofer was shaking my computer desk!
Reviewed in Canada on November 1, 2022
I'm always wary about new speakers, but these actually aren't too bad at all. Spent the afternoon going through all kinds of sounds (heavy metal, country, classical, r&b, spoken word podcasts) & they sound great in my little apartment. Had to play with the volume to bass ratio, but even at half volume it's comfortably loud for the room I'm in. I didn't want the sound shooting downstairs, so I put the subwoofer on it's side and it's sounding lovely. Before I did that, the bass was literally shaking my computer desk! (I've got it hooked up to my laptop) I haven't tested it at full volume because even at half, it was too loud and sound carries (I try to be a good neighbour!).

I think the ONLY downside I've found so far is the speaker cable length. Most setups I've seen have one cable connecting the two sides, then another cable going down to the sub. But this system has one cable from each speaker that meet up with the jack input, and it's really short. I've got the speakers on my desk and the sub on the floor and it just barely reaches. I have a taller desk and prefer to put the speakers at the top, but the shorter cables just won't allow for that.

So all in all, not a bad system. Keep in mind that these aren't Bose or Klipsch so there's room for improvement. But for those who are on a budget or in a smaller space, these are ideal.
