Great laptop stand!

Very nice, well constructed, gorgeous design. I have multiple laptops on my desktop and this works great for keeping it all looking nice and clutter free. Makes the screen sit up at eye level, and the keyboard has a perfect feel and finger response for working all day on them.

It would get a 5 from me if not for two things: The USB hub works as an unpowered hub, but if you want a powered hub you have to buy an adapter and I cannot find where they sell one, so am assuming you have to go to RS or somewhere and get a universal. And it would be a perfect score if they added cooling fans into the base to cool the bottom of the laptop, although I should not complain because my laptop feels very cool on top of it even without fans, so maybe they know more than I do.

All in all, you will love it and recommend it also after you use it.

Works just as it states it will work.

For those reviews mentioning about the USB ports: they will need an external power source for printers, etc. You will have no problem using them for memory sticks, etc.

My Sony VAIO, too, does not stay on the 'holder', but it works perfectly resting right below it...no big problem at all.

I LOVE the keyboard! I love my VAIO too, but, honestly, except when truly portable, I have never liked any laptop keyboard. The ALTO keyboard is smooth as silk and the keys are just right for me.

So here is my overall opinion: The ALTO is heavy and so I will probably just use it at home. It is also truly BEAUTIFUL to look at and the keyboard is perfect for me.

Also, invest a few dollars into a cordless optical mouse: you will be all set.

Excellent value for the price!

I have two laptop computers and some keys on both of them, almost simultaneously, started "sticking" or not working at all. What to do?! I could either order and install new keyboards on both of the computers . . . or . . . I could consider Logitech's Alto Notebook stand with integrated keyboard. I chose the latter option because it was a lot easier than installing new keyboards and it was more affordable.

The Logitech keyboard can be installed within minutes and works like a charm. Plus, it is a lot more comfortable and convenient typing on a full size keyboard than on the smaller laptop keyboard.

I would STRONGLY recommend the Logitech Alto Notebook stand with integrated keyboard!

This device works exactly as advertised. The keyboard, while not quite as nice as my regular PC keyboard, is ten times better than any laptop keyboard.

Anyone who needs to use their laptop to do some serious typing at a remote location should order one of these things immediately!

You may also use this at home if you are too cheap to buy separate a monitor and keyboard for your notebook, but the separate keyboard and monitor, along with a docking station, is the better solution for those who can afford it and have the space to leave it permanently set up.

Some caveats: (1) It takes up a lot more desk space than just using your laptop computer by itself; (2) the no skid pad, while effectively preventing the keyboard from skidding, is a real dirt magnet; (3) although it folds easily for storage, it's pretty heavy so it's not something you would carry around all the time--it weighs more than twice as much as my little Sony Vaio; (4) the power adapter, which is only needed if you want to power up the built-in USB hub, is NOT included.

Does exactly what it says it will

I use an ultraportable laptop at my desk on a regular basis, which was becoming rather uncomfortable for my neck and back. I now use the Alto at my desk all the time and it has greatly improved my posture. In addition to the raised screen I find it very handy having an integrated full size keyboard, numerical keypad, and USB hub all in one. It should be noted that this is not as good as a proper external monitor, keyboard, and dock setup. However it does come in a close second if you do not have space for those items (although the footprint for the Alto is also quite large). For whatever reason some of the function keys don't work for me (such as the volume keys), which may be irritating if you want to use them a lot. All in all I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.

This was a great buy. Though the product description says it is portable...it is pretty bulky and won't fit in many snug laptop bags. Otherwise, I find the keyboard great and my laptop doesn't seem to overheat even though the vertical support of the stand has no vents, there is a gap between the laptop and the vertical support. I can also rest a book/paper I am using against the laptop keyboard making it convenient to read and type notes.
I am very satisfied. Users who only use the touch-pad of their laptop will have to buy a mouse since the angle of the touch-pad becomes too awkward for use.

Makes notebook computer use easier at my desk.

This item is extremely easy to set up and use. Does just as advertised, the notebook screen is up closer to eye level and the full size keyboard makes typing faster and easier. It is also great having volume keys because my new Vaio does not have seperate volume controls, it needs to be accessed with the function keys. Now I can control volume easily. Works with new Vista operating system and it's nice having extra USB ports. Make sure that you have a USB mouse, because using touchpad is difficult with the computer on the riser. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This is my second purchase of Logitech's integrated notebook PC stand and keyboard--for my purposes, at least, an excellent product that supports my portable PC (and that of my son, hence the second purchase, having lost custody of my first purchase), adds better screen view, substitutes with a single USB, non-powered, connection a quiet, full size QUERTY keyboard, and makes available other, easy USB connections--all in one piece. Maybe not for everyone, but suits me perfectly.
