On the positive:
-No distortion, even when increasing the volume to high levels
-Detailed and precise sound reproduction, which is especially noticeable with the special effects on video games and movies.
-Extremely fun for games because you can feel the explosions
-Acceptable quality for listening to music
-Multiple inputs makes it easy to switch to playing music off of a portable audio device or second entertainment system
-Cords are clean and easy to manage
On the negative:
-The mids on these speakers are weaker than I would have liked. The upper range is a little better, but still feels thin. Therefore, I do not find listening to music as enjoyable on these as some of the more balanced speakers I have purchased in the past. It's not so much that the speakers are bass-heavy, but there are some noticeable weak spots across the entire range of sound.
-Sound fullness does not seem as rich at lower volumes.
-Expensive for the audio quality that they provide.
I don't regret purchasing this system and enjoy playing games with it. Personal sound preferences are subjective, so you may enjoy the system more than I do. Hopefully this helps you to make an informed decision based on what you are looking for out of the sound. If you're only looking to listen to music, I might suggest other options. If you are considering headphones as an alternative to a 2.1 system, I would recommend the Beyerdynamic DT770 80ohm headset, which sports the same pricetag: https://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-770-Pro-Studio-Headphones/dp/B0016MNAAI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493330423&sr=8-1&keywords=dt770. From my testing, this is the best sound quality I think you can buy at the price point. Then again, comparing a 2.1 system to amazing headphones is an apples to oranges comparison. :)
Well, I was mildly disappointed. The sound seems a bit muffled on the high end, plus the separation in the mids to highs is not to good. It's like these speakers are wearing some kind of soft music sound-plug. And I tend to listen to music a bit more on the softer side, where sonic fidelity is important to me, and the Z625's just aren't cutting it.
To give this review a positive spin, I'll give you my hands down recommendations for good Logitechs: Z313- amazing audio out of such an inexpensive system; Z-2300- classics, no longer produced, but still sold; check out the reviews of these things and you'll wanna shell out for 'em too!
All in all it's a "good" system for basic noise and games, but you may be disappointed on movies, music, and other audio intensive media.
I ended up ordering this speaker set, and an ASUS Xonar DGX card for my computer, and it sounds awesome. Using an optical cable, and volume turned up less then half on the speaker, you can hear everything. And I can adjust the volume from the sofa, with my keyboard. You get what you pay for, and I feel it was worth it.

This replaced a much cheaper Logitech version that was pretty good at low powers, but definitely distorted at high volumes.Read more
