My husband is an IT guy and computer gamer so he always purchases a programmable gaming mouse whenever he needs a new one. Prior to this mouse, he had the Logitech G500 Programmable Gaming Mouse which he really liked so when that one started wearing out after three years, he started searching for a good replacement. There was another mouse that he wanted instead of this one but it was older so he decided to purchase this one, since it is basically the newer version of the G500 and he really liked the number of programmable buttons (this was a requirement of his and the main reason he purchased this mouse).

We have now had this mouse for almost two months and my husband is very happy with it. Initially, he was hesitant on purchasing this mouse because of the cost. He typically prefers to spend about $50 for a mouse and this one was $30 more when we bought it so this mouse was a bit more expensive than his usual purchase but it is really growing on him after using it for a couple months. When I first laid my eyes on the mouse, it looked like it's something from the future with how technical it looks!

What's In the Box:
Mouse
Tuning weights and case
User Documentation

What You Need:
USB Port
Internet connection for optional software download
Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7

Now, back to my review. Upon opening the box, my husband immediately set to work setting up his mouse for his gaming specifications. There are 11 programmable buttons which you can calibrate depending on how much you use them and you can always change them.

I've only been using this for 1 day so far, so I'll updated my review after I've had a chance to really utilize it.

I had been using a Logitech G5 for something like 9 years. All of my work, creative projects, and gaming took place with that mouse, and it took that long for the left click to start to catch a little bit making a sort of "double click" feel. It stills works fine but I figured it was time to upgrade since the price was right.

This mouse being a slightly more "claw" oriented (just slightly) than the G5 it's taking my thumb a tiny bit of time to get used to it, but so far this thing is incredible. The buttons feel weighted enough with a nice click, and the precision is hands-down the best of any mouse I've ever used. Everything feels swift. It's been a long time since I've used updated Logitech software, so I was happy to see how good the new app is to configure everything. I dialed in a nice bright white and am very happy thus far.

Typical applications:

* Photoshop (photo editing, graphic design)
* Music production
* Video editing
* Gaming

Coming from a G602 (which isn't a terrible mouse to begin with), the G502 was a great surprise. I figured that I would try this thing out, given the great reviews I've seen here on Amazon for the Spectrum and the Core.

Pros:
-Accuracy. With my G602 and other wireless mice, I have always noticed that accuracy wasn't always spot on in normal daily tasks and gaming. That is certainly not the case with the G502, though I suppose I don't have any other wired mouse to compare this one to with regards to pin-point accuracy.
-Comfort & build quality. The mouse is very comfortable to grip, though it might be a bit too heavy for people looking to use this to play FPS games or other games that require lightning-quick reflexes. There's extra weights if you want to use them, but I opted to keep them off.
-RGB. It's up to you whether or not the extra $ is worth it, but it compliments my RGB keyboard and leds on my PC quite well

Cons:
-Price. You get what you pay for, but the price for entry is somewhat steep. I've seen the Core going for less than $50 on a few occasions, so that might be a better option for people's budgets
-Click noise. The right and left clicks on this mouse are somewhat more audible than over mice I've used - not really a problem though unless you were looking for a "silent" mouse.

I've needed a new mouse for the longest time and was trying to decide between this or one of the Corsair mice (to match my keyboard). I always thought the $80 price point was a little steep, so when I saw this for $60 I ordered it right away. The first night of using this mouse, I hated it. I wasn't used to it's ultra fast response time or scroll wheel, the shape etc. After a full day of using this for work, web browsing and some light gaming sessions (FO4 and BF4, Skylines for the most part), I slowly fell in love with this mouse. I found out my hate from the first night was simply because I wasn't used to something so good. I had been using a $10 Microsoft mouse for the last 5 years and it had zero weight to it, cheap, hollow plastic buttons, and it started to make my wrist hurt all the time. Once you download the LGS and fine tune the DPI to your liking, this mouse becomes amazing. It took me a few minutes to find the right DPI for me and make this a comfortable experience. All that being said, I do have a couple issues with this mouse that are just minor annoyances.

The scroll wheel. It's a love/hate thing for me at the moment. I love it because you can easily switch between a precise notch scroll or a hyper scroll that just spins and spins down/up long pages (reddit comments for example). I'm slightly hating it because when you have hyper scroll on, pages tend to scroll up or down on their own sometimes. So when I go to click something the page moves a tiny bit and it's kind of annoying. Another con to the mouse wheel is the the amount of pressure you need to middle click. I'm not sure if this is something I'll get used to over time but for now it's still noticeable enough to be annoying.
