Just what we were looking for

I bought these for my wife's laptop, which is more or less permanently set up on a very small desk. These speakers are a little over six inches tall, and hefty enough to resist tipping over or sliding off the edge of the desk; just right for if you have a small workspace. The best thing is you turn can them on and off and control the volume with a simple knob. Another thing I like is they don't run through a USB port and as near as I can tell there's no software or drivers or anything like that; just plug into a wall socket and the speaker/headphone socket and you're good to go. I am really impressed with the sound quality and the volume these little speakers put out. A great value for the price.

These are obviously not "audiophile" caliber speakers. Good enough for the price? Sure.
The LED is unnecessarily bright (my photo does not do it justice).

The wires are also unnecessary. Most speakers of this kind will have one "hub" speaker with the switch, the power source and connection to audio source. The other speaker has only one wire to connect to the hub speaker.

Here, we have on speaker with the switch and connection to the audio source and the other speaker with the power cord: so both speakers have a pair of wires coming out. You also can't disconnect the speakers from each other.

I know... I know... These are cheap speakers. But I would have rather paid a little more to get less clutter on my desk and to not have a distracting LED.

Prefect from price to quality, just what I wanted

I love to watch movies, listen to music, on my computer but my volume on it isn't very good, I also listen to my audios why working around the home. I had a set kind of like this and was looking for another set because my last one broke from moving it from computer to kitchen listening to my audio. Haven't been able to find any with wall supply this small, not only that the bigger ones which are way too big for my needs were very costly. I need something that was small and didn't take up too much space. When I found this I was very excited, not only is the price right, but they are just the size I need. The only speakers I could find that would work for me were battery ones. I went through a lot of batteries before I found this set.

I have bought several products with the Logitech brand over the years and have always been very please with their products. This is no different, they are made to last with heavy plastic that will not break easy, the cords are thick and can take some abuse. The cord between the two speakers is a good distances so you can get more of an all round sound. You are not going to beat this price, I was very surprise to find these so inexpensive that I could buy more for backup. There is no setup you just plug in and turn on easy as can be. I didn't expect them to be high end it wasn't what I was looking for, for me they work great, sound is good quality, and they are prefect for my use.

I bought three sets, so I have a back up, They work so great the volume goes louder than I need it which is great you never know when you will need it louder and knew you can go that extra mile if you need to. Thrilled I now have one for my computer and one to set out in the kitchen for when I am working out there. Plus one I can set back or use in the car for my audios.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to find this at this price and to have them work so well. I am over pleased and would love to give it more than a five star.

Good and cheap, but cord is flimsy

The good:

They're exactly what you paid for. Cheap and small speakers that do the job. I don't really need to tell you that these won't deliver any kind of multi-dimensional soundscape for music buffs or anything like that. But they're exactly the ticket if you just want to listen to your daily podcast, or if you're not picky about sound and you just need something cheap that works.

The bad:

The cord. These speakers were made with laptops in mind, not desktops. Your desktop HAS to be on the right side of your monitor, not the left, in order for the cord to reach. Even then... it's plenty long for laptops, but just barely workable for a desktop set-up. My speakers sit way further behind the monitor than I would like, just because that's as far as the cord will reach.

The extra bad:

The cord turns out to be pretty flimsy, and if I nudge it even a little the speakers will emit a horrific buzz/screech that makes me jump out of my pants. I have to wiggle the cord around until it finds juuust the right position for the sound to stop. It's fine 90% of the time, but it's annoying to have to do this every time I accidentally nudge it when plugging in a USB drive or something.

TL;DR
-good and cheap
-cord good for laptops, too short for desktops
-cord flimsy and may cause sound problems

I purchased these s120 speakers as new and when i received them they were packaged in a plastic bag. There were no instructions and the serial number was blacked out with a black marker. In addition, these speakers did not even work. No power light came on.

Logitech does not sell these speakers bulk packaged like this. If you received this in the plastic bag like this, immediately return to amazon.

Only right speaker work but with good sound

I did read the reviews and since I had a previous Logitech set of speakers similar to these that lasted several years, decided to try them. For what I
needed them for, the price was good since they were only going to be used on my desktop when I need background music (sparingly at that) from either Pandora or Youtube if I don't have my little tv on, also sparingly.

With that said, I liked the size, they were smaller and also did not use a usb port but a plug instead. While the sound was actually good, it would have been better had both speakers worked in unison. I only had sound from the right speaker, the left was totally dead and no sound at all. All wires were attached when I took them out of the packaging and were not loose. I even went as far as checking the settings on my computer and nothing looked out of the ordinary that may prevent sound.

Unfortunately, I returned them (thank you to Amazon for providing free return shipping labels to UPS, the store is about a mile from my home) that very morning after receiving them.

The Speaker stopped working and exploded on me

The speakers stopped working and when I tried to plug it back in and out; shake it a bit; one of the chips inside literally exploded on me. I then contacted Logitech and explained what happened. After reviewing the pictures (attached here) they responded back after 1 week to me that your warranty is void because speakers were opened. I never opened the speaker, after the spark/small fire (however you want to term it) the speaker cover came out. They refused to acknowledge that their speaker can malfunction and despite this being extremely cheap speakers; failed to do anything about it. I have never ever dealt with such retarded customer service and support. It was never about the money just thought they would make sure this wouldn't happen to anyone else and perhaps recommend something else to me.

Anyways be warned!!!

For the price you couldn't ask for better little speakers I dont think anyway! Of course they dont have booming bass - they are small computer speakers!

As for the price on Amazon - well the same speakers are a bit more than $6 less at Wal-Mart Canada($12.88) but I didnt notice till I already had taken delivery from Amazon and it would have cost more to return them than what I could have saved so.... Still happy with the speakers though!

You won't get surround sound audio quality out of 2 speakers. They aren't the best speakers money can buy. They are however affordable and of decent quality. It's unlikely you will find better for your money. One issue I did have with them though is they are so light that they can fall easily. I don't think a fall from waist height would hurt them any though because they are fairly well built. Still I feel it's worth noting.

I bought these to hold me over until i repair a set of similar speakers i've had for years. The set doesn't have a bass boost option. However since i rarely used the bass boost option on my old set i can live without that feature for $18. I've reinforced the input jack with a drinking straw sheath and duct tape eliminating one of the very few issues (the wire breaking near the plug in point) the speakers could possibly have over the years with normal use so i imagine these speakers should last over a decade.

Affordable and it works

I paid $18 for these, cheapest pair of computer speakers I could find on Amazon that don't connect via USB and instead just plugs into the 3.5mm jack of your PC/monitor/other source and is AC powered (outlet). Just be aware that you're not going to get studio sound quality with these compared to $200+ fancy speaker setups, that goes without saying. But honestly, they do the job and can actually get quite loud but obviously with no subwoofer, bass is nonexistent. I use these when I don't feel like wearing headphones.

Remember the sound volume also depends on your source as well. If your source has a poor amplifier, don't expect these to perform miracles.

They have a small footprint and are very lightweight but because of that, they're also very prone to being tipped over. No biggie, just a minor inconvenience.
