Superior battery life in an ultra lightweight but premium feeling durable wireless RGB mouse. A true "game changer" for wireless gaming mice. If it wasn't tied to Logitech's lackluster, aging, simplified gaming software this class of it's own mouse would have me writing to Amazon to allow a special "six star" review. If you get a chance to use one of these consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
On Amazon Prime:
This product was advertising as potentially having a wait time due to what I can only assume was the newness ( About a week old at the time of order ) and high end-ness of the product. Amazon had it to my door with the Prime free 2-day shipping in EXACTLY 2 days flat when other sites were telling me there was no availability, large delays due to limited units, unsettled sourcing contracts ( I assume ) where some sites just didn't have the unit at all.
Overall Summary: The performance of this mouse is superior to any other wired or wireless gaming product I've ever used. Phenomenal battery life and incredible charging speeds make the mandatory ho-hum Logitech gaming software tolerable. Super light weight with a good feel the RGB is nice and colorful, but more useful as the DPI toggle lights than it is in the palm-rest LED which feels more like marketing ploy than bling. The cord is thick and premium feeling with plenty of length if you like them to be long.(lol) The mandibles on either side of the charging cord really lock it into place incredibly securely during charging cycles to the degree that it feels like it's natural wiring. This is not the type of mouse you need to take a break from playing while charging for fear of the micro-usb connection rapidly degrading to failure. The mouse has a really nice feel for right handed, and I've heard it's equivalent for left handed. The side buttons are easy to add or remove physically and they're simple to set up in Logitech's gaming software and can then be set to the onboard memory so they're configured on boot separate of the software. Logitech has been really hammering out good products at rather high pricing, and they've typically offered a "gimme" with the products (a copy of "The Division" for example) to help mitigate the costs and reduce sticker shock. For the G900 this is not the case and when unboxing I felt like there "could be more" when it comes to in-box goodies outside of the standard load out, especially for the buck-fifty price tag. All-in-all if you can manage the high price tag, this is a super premium mouse unlike anything else currently on the market and I would highly recommend it.
Feature by Feature:
Price--
The price is really really high for this mouse. This is not mitigated by in-box or on-purchase freebies like some other recent RGB capable product releases from Logitech. Some people may not feel comfortable with paying a premium for industry leading technologies. I had an EXCELLENT experience with Logitech Customer Service over a pair of G930's that made me a customer for life (as long as their products justifying it) so while they're pumping out industry leading tech with smart, sleek designs I'm personally fine with paying more for their premium products.
Software--
The software is undoubtedly the WORST part of the Logitech Gaming ecosystem well beyond cost and it's the most disheartening aspect of this company's gaming commitment as a whole. I understand the business implications of designing and then maintaining "good software" but WOW if this is the best Logitech can do. If Logitech can only manage a single OS capable software for gaming and manages it this poorly there is a clear and obvious problem in their gaming software department that needs to be addressed if they want to be taken seriously in the gaming industry that is irregardless of their hardware quality. I can "mock" the settings of the ducky shine, and if I were software inclined I can download the SDK for the RGB products, but anyone who isn't will be stuck with the existing gaming software and occasionally software-bricking updates. I hope dearly that Logitech has something huge in the pipelines because their gaming software platform is an embarrassment when used with the incredible gaming hardware they've been pumping out.
Buttons--
The buttons have a mechanical "click" and feel great. Logitech boasts "reduced press timing" but I can't say that there is any noticeable difference in timing. They have a wonderfully "clicky" sound on press if you like the mechanical "clicky" sound. If you don't admire the mechanical keyboard click and loud peripherals you may not appreciate this, but it's a click you can hear if you don't have your headset on, and a click you can feel if you do and can't hear the click. There are 2 side-buttons on each side that can be replaced with the included blank plates for a more standard 2-button mouse. They come in a nicely padded, securely fitting, pocket sized holding container with the USB connection in it as well. The container is perfectly sized to keep in your pocket. This is perfect for quick travel and packing light, but it may be catastrophic if it slipped from your pocket during a dark LAN party as the USB stick and transceiver it comes with could be easily lost or become incredibly hard to find on a dark floor.
Performance--
WOW! Now I get to be entirely positive! The mouse performance is incredible, Incredible, INCREDIBLE! With ultra high DPI, my game of choice through all of it's bugs and recent downfalls has been "The division" and where my G700 would jump a bit on long shots with the breathing instability of the character, the G900 is flawlessly precise and perfectly responsive. Logitech's software could take a lesson or two from their hardware and engineering department! This thing is snappy, the battery level doesn't affect performance to the last drop of power, and the clicks are accurate, tactile, and effective with a good feel you can feel with your headphones on full blast, and hear with your headphones turned down or when using speakers. Side to side movement is quick, responsive, and precise and that persists across different movement types. I'll detail connectivity in full below but the mouse was much more connected and reliable to not falter than my G700 has ever been. NOTE: This mouse performs even better with a good quality mousepad!
Connectivity--
The connectivity is excellent and the mouse lasts forever and has an identical connection profile to the last drop of power where some mice begin to lose functionality as they reach the last few drops of power in the single digit percentages. I live in a signal dense area and where the G700 would get buggy here and there the G900 performs flawlessly throughout every single percentage point of it's battery life. I haven't really tested the range yet but I don't know who would be further from their machine besides big screen gamers on the couch.
Battery--
Battery life is equally amazing to what Logitech stated, it charges super fast and lasts super long. The LED puts a reasonable impact on the overall battery life duration and you have the option to turn the lights off to extend the battery life. I've only charged it three times since procuring it 7 days ago and that includes the out-of-box mandatory but unnecessary charging. The nice thing about the battery for this and all Logitech devices is when running the software alerts are posted to the screen at 10, 5, and LOW so you know in enough time to finish a round up and get your charger cord out.
Cords and Connections--
The cords are a nice braided fabric cord with thick plastic high quality usb plugs. The cords are fabric so they could fray if you're dragging them over metal or otherwise sharp edges continually. The USB connectors look sturdy but can be crowding and even impossible to plug in, in series. Some more thought could have been put into having many Logitech plug-ins on 1 grouping of USB plugs. I assume if I plugged a bunch in near each other they utilize the FULL and exact spacing between USB ports and look great altogether with a much more uniform look if they are the ONLY usb connector types plugged into any group of standard USB ports. There is a "mandable" side to this advertised in all the pictures and let me tell you, this is the MOST under sung feature in the history of peripherals. The mandibles lock into the mouse's body when charging making what would be a flimsy micro-usb connection something that feels secure and very likely to stand up to the test of time unlike all the other micro-usb connections out there, this is one of the game changer features on this mouse for sure!
Scroll Wheel--
The scroll wheel feels and looks great. It's a bit larger feeling than most other scroll wheels so slow methodical wheel clicks can be a bit cumbersome at times but overall, and with the Logitech free wheel click option on this mouse it's a fantastic gaming transition of an already perfect feature that Logitech keeps delivering because it's just done right and feels right time and time again. There are apparently scroll wheel gestures, but I have not as of yet used any or even had a need to use any.
Build--
The mouse feels by weight alone like it may shatter like an eggshell when you first pick it up because of how light it is. If you don't like lightweight mice and you prefer the solid heavy feel of a RAT this isn't the mouse for you. It doesn't come with any adjustment weights like the Proteus does which was confusing for a gaming mouse and for the price point. On the plus side the extremely high DPI makes even the finest movements register on screen and the light weight may make the mouse easier to nudge ever so slightly in this way. Separately the build quality does not suffer at all in parallel to the weight. I'm a heavy-handed palm resting gamer and the mouse feels remarkably durable and supportive regardless of weighing in at such a light weight. It's pretty amazing overall with the cords, mouse, tightly secure additional pieces, and the space-air-lock tight mandible usb-micro charging port connection. Everything in the build quality just "feels right" about this mouse.
Suggestions--
For the gamer, I'd highly recommend this mouse by itself if you don't mind skipping the gaming software and going with stock configurations. It's STILL an excellent EXCELLENT gaming mouse aside. If you're comfortable being all Logitech for your peripherals I'd say go for it for sure because you'll only take 1 gaming software suite's hit. If you don't have a lot of resources or you're gaming on a laptop with dual core and limited ram sharing to the GPU then I'd skip this mouse. I'd recommend highly if in the future Logitech did something to make their gaming software work better, expanded the customization features, and reduced the resource drain it incurs on systems. I'd also rethink the "G" placement if possible and place it somewhere that the lighting could be useful in-game if the engineering of the materials allows it in a useful and tastefully designed way.
~Review from a longtime FPS gamer, playing fast-paced arena-style shooters~
First off, the Pros:
- A plethora of programmable buttons
- The ability to program and recall multiple mouse configurations for different applications*
- Nice shape and weight: I've heard every complaint and a lot of praise about the shape.
I have 20.3 cm hands (can palm basketball), and I do not feel as though it is too small for me. The mouse I came from was a G400s, and I grew
to like this shape a lot better. It "forces" you to grip it with something in-between claw and palm grip, it truly is a unique but "good" feel. With the
grip I use, my thumb is bent into the side of the chassis, which has a nice textured feel to it that you can dig in to, and my ring and pinky finger
are hanging off the edge of the mouse on the side. The mouse is not all the way in my palm by any means, but the hump is just curved enough
to provide solid contact with the palm. The whole thing sounds unorthodox, but it allows my thumb and ring finger to oppose each other in near
perfect opposition, resulting in a very solid grip where I have a lot of control.
- Fantastic sensor.
- High quality braided cable for when you do have it plugged in
- No discernible wireless lag - I've heard claims you can detect it, don't believe them. Truly negligible to non-existent latency in wireless mode.
- Incredible battery, a 90 minute charge will be good for around 3 days of continuous play IME.
-The RGB actually notify you of which profile you have active simply by clicking the button on the bottom - very nice.
-Great scrolling and hyper-scrolling. (not middle clicks)
-Great tactile feel from clicks on most buttons
*BE ADVISED: As of the time of this review, nearly a year and a half after the release of this mouse, the Logitech software still to this day is bugged when using the G900. If you try to use the programmable buttons after mapping them to different keys, the buttons fail to respond until you have clicked them continuously several times, then start working again, and this process repeats every time you go a minute or so without clicking them.
WORKAROUND: Program the profiles and button commands until you're satisfied, then exit the logitech (blue G) software altogether. There will be another slight delay when you click the buttons again, and once it starts working it stops cutting out. You will have to change profiles using the button on the bottom, and the RGB lights in the middle of the mouse will let you know which profile you currently have active.
Now the mostly minor cons:
- Construction: It feels somewhat cheap at times, although I think a lot of that has to do with the corners they had to cut to keep the weight down, so
with that in mind I can't really mark it as a serious drawback. There is however a slight rattle when you shake the mouse in your hand slightly -
something in there needs to be secured better, not sure whether it's the sensor assembly, the battery, or one of the compartments that holds the
stuff in place. Needs improvement. Suffice to say, don't drop this mouse.
- Right mouse button: For a right-hander, it feels more elevated than it should be. This leads to many unintentional clicks of the right mouse button,
with whatever consequences that might entail for your current task.
- Clicks: The two side buttons furthest from your palm on either side of the mouse are quite noticeably inferior with clicking action than the nearest
ones. They feel stiff and you have to use twice as much effort to depress them. Why not make them just like the nearer buttons? The mid mouse
button clicks are equally stiff and frustrating.
-Buggy logitech software, as outlined above in the pros. Unacceptable 1 1/2 years after release.
-Liftoff distance issues. The liftoff distance for this mouse is quite low, which for me ended up being an issue because adding additional mouse skates for more glide (see below) would cause the sensor to stop registering. Being able to adjust the sensor height would be ideal.
And finally, the big con:
The feet.
For such a game-changing product like this one, with the awesome features it has, they managed to get arguably the most critical element wrong. First off, this mouse has VERY unusual feet/skates (refer to the image linked below). The purpose of all mouse feet is to reduce friction/drag on the surface you're using it on. The G900 fails to deliver in this category. I have tried both the generic feet that came with the mouse, and replacement ones from the only company I could find on amazon that had them, called "Hotline Games". All feet that I tried for the g900 wear out faster than any I've ever seen on any mouse I ever owned, by a large margin. After a week or so of daily use on new mouse feet, the problem occurs.
If you're using a cloth pad, you probably won't notice it all that much, but if you use hard surfaces like me you definitely will eventually, when the glide starts to feel "uneven".
I wasn't sure exactly what it was, at first. I thought maybe it was the profile button or the on/off switch that was scrubbing the desk, but after covering those two with felt and still feeling the drag I discounted that explanation. So the buttons on the bottom weren't it, but I kept experimenting until I nailed down the culprit: See the V shaped feet in the very center? They go directly below the sensor itself, close to the center of the mouse. For some reason someone thought it would be a good idea to put two wedge-shaped lines opposing each other right in the center of the mouse. Unfortunately not only are the little wedges completely superfluous in attempting to reduce drag, but they cause an outright increase in friction which, due to their notched shape, cause the mouse to "catch" on the surface and gives a rough, scratching feedback.
So why not simply remove the V-shaped feet, then? That works, for awhile. With a fresh pair of feet, the absence of the wedges makes the mouse glide as smooth as silk. But after a week or so of wear, it starts to cut into the surface again. Then you turn the mouse over to find out why, and you observe a protruding plastic border that serves as an outline for the inner skates. Once your mouse feet get sufficiently worn down, this plastic border starts cutting into the desk/surface and you are back to square one.
I tried swapping/adding additional feet to the mouse, only to run into problems with the low-liftoff distance that made the sensor stop registering even from raising the height by a couple of mm.
So sadly, I'm at an impasse with this mouse now after using it for a couple of months. I can either go through 2-4 sets of feet a month (leaving out the detrimental and unusual inner-feet) to remain accurate, or buy something new for competitive FPS and keep the G900 for general use (where it also excels).
A very regrettable yet critical design defect on an otherwise groundbreaking product.

Top reviews from other countries
The bottom line is... The g900 is amazing. It meets and exceeds every claim I've seen Logitech make. The MS response time is equal to or better than my wired Roccat Kone XTD and G9X, which had the best sensors I'd ever used... until now, that is. It blows my mind that a wireless mouse performs as smoothly or better than its wired counterparts. Over the past month, it has performed seamlessly over every game I've played (Overwatch, Witcher 3, Metro Last Light, Diablo 3, and more). It has completely justified the price, in my opinion. I bought at $152. You can do better if you get it on sale. Shop around.
If you're MOST interested in the specs, Gamer's Nexus has the best review I've read. They heavily tested the response time and signal quality. Just google Gamer's Nexus G900.
•• SIZE AND PHYSICAL FEEL ••
I have small-ish hands, but I've always liked larger mice. However, I've used them for so long, I wanted to try something smaller. The G900 is a perfect medium. It's nicely rounded in the butt, and I make it work effortlessly for palm, claw, or fingertip. It has a smooth plastic finish, similar to the Razor Deathadder, but it feels higher quality. The grip is scored into the plastic. I like this, as it doesn't produce sweat the way a rubber thumb bit can. It's also going to be difficult to wear down. In addition, this mouse is legitimately ambidextrous and fits beautifully in either hand. I used to like ergo mice, but the G900 contours so wonderfully into my hand, I could care less if it was specifically made for L or R handedness. It comes with 2 thumb buttons, but you have the option of putting in 4. I put in all 4, and I appreciate the placement. I never press the right sided buttons by accident.
•• LIGHTWEIGHT FTW ••
This might be a deal breaker for some, but 107g for a Wireless mouse is, in my opinion, amazing. Compare that to a Razer Deathadder, which is considered on the lighter side at 105g, and you see that it's right on par. It may not seem like much, but my 122g Roccat feels like an anvil comparatively. The Deathadder (Ergonomic) version comes in at a whopping 148g, so there's that option out there if you are a very large human being. If you want even lighter and smaller, you can go with the Zowie FK2 at 85g-ish, but we're getting real tiny and specific there. All in all, 107g has been a sweet spot for me and is all the sweeter without a wire.
•• DAT BATTERY LIFE ••
32 hours is nothing to sneeze at. I've clocked it from full charge to dead. It lasts around 35 hours balanced between heavy gaming and everyday usage. This is without the LED light on. I've read others state around 28-32 hours with full LED usage. The best part is how fast it charges. Sure, you can plug it in and use it as a wired mouse in a pinch thanks to its braided USB cable, but I just plug it into my wall charger for 15 minutes while I eat, and it's ready for a day of gaming. On that note, it charges to full very quickly. 30 minutes to 1 hour will net 100% charge depending on your charger's performance. I don't bother turning it off, as it has an autosleep function at about 10-15 minutes. I'm hypersensitive about keeping it charged, so I haven't come close to it turning off while gaming.
Whenever you move it to wake it up, it reminds you of its current charge level: green for great, yellowy-orange for another day's gaming, red for "oh god, why didn't you charge me, fool?!" Lastly, it gives you a windows pop-up warning when it hits 30%, which is plenty of warning.
Update 01/12/2018: There's a new Logitech G900 variant... I believe the G903. It's compatible with a charging mouse-pad. You put it on the pad, it auto charges. The mouse costs SIGNIFICANTLY more than the G900, and the pad itself retails for $100. Don't fall for it. There's no reason you should be paying upwards of $250 for virtually the same product as the G900. Based on my year of experience, the G900 charges so friggen fast, running out of charge is NEVER an issue. Don't pay literally hundreds of dollars more for the same mouse with a gimmicky charging model. It really really really ain't worth it.
•• SIGNAL QUALITY ••
Per Logitech's instructions, you should keep the sensor at least 8 feet from a router to avoid signal irritation. I have my dongle about 2 feet from my router and have had zero issues. No mouse acceleration, deceleration, nothing. The movement has been outstanding. One note, though. If you block the dongle with a heavy item like a subwoofer or XBox controller, you will immediately notice sluggishness. It's pretty simple. Don't keep anything directly in front of the dongle, and you're going to have a great time.
•• CLICK FEEL ••
I won't harp on this for too long because it's highly subjective, but perhaps the subtlest yet most satisfying thing about the mouse is "click feel." It feels like a tighter, more responsive click than even the Deathadder, which many feel has the best on the market. Like I said of the plastic earlier, it simply feels better constructed (which it bloody well should be for $150).
•• SCROLL WHEEL ••
One of the things I find "okay" about this mouse is the wheel. My Roccat's TITAN WHEEL was awesome. It felt thick, responsive, and heavy duty. The G900 goes in the opposite direction in terms of build methodology. They hollowed it out to remove as much weight as possible, which is great... but that makes it slightly flimsier than others. Honestly though, pressing the middle mouse buttons are fine. No issues there. There are two scroll modes: single tick and free scroll. Single tick is good, albeit a little louder than some. I got used to it after a day's use and don't notice it anymore. Some people have complained about the wobble in the free scroll mode. What they mean is that, if you leave it in free scroll while gaming, the wheel noticeably wiggles to the left and the right as you swing the mouse around. There's a simple solution to that problem. Don't game while in free scroll. There's literally no reason to unless you're macro-ing a single shot weapon like a wiener. If you want that, this mouse is way too good for your kind, dude brah.
•• LIFT DISTANCE ••
It's low enough that it'll never ruin a shot. I've tested it on my bare wooden desk, my steelseries QCK+, and my Roccat Alumic. There's no awful drag when adjusting. I do recommend you go into the software and tune it specifically for each surface you're using. The software has no limit to the number of surfaces you can save, either, which is nice.
•• IT LIGHTS UP ••
Yeah, honestly, I don't give a flart about that. I keep my light off to preserve battery life, but you can use it with whatever color you like.
•• THE SOFTWARE ••
Logitech's Gaming Software is decent. I like that it integrates multiple products (headsets, mice, etc). For the G900 specifically, you can change DPI (with as many custom presets as you want), polling rate, LED color, button assignments, and add macros. You can also change the "surface type," but I recommend caution. There are three settings: default, cloth, and hard. I set mine to hard, but I was noticing periods in FPS's where I couldn't even turn. Switching back to default fixed this. You can create your own custom profile, which allows the mouse to theoretically map the surface its on, but that made it feel slightly wonky. Either way, you should experiment!
Roccat's software, to compare, is slightly more comprehensive. You could change lift distance, horizontal vs vertical sensitivity, and other neat little things. I'm not a fan of too many options. At some point, they're majorly redundant.
•• CONCLUSION ••
The g900 is unequivocally the best mouse I've used in 16+ years of semi-competitive gaming. I play high sens (1600dpi in Battlefield, Starcraft, LoL) and low sens (800dpi:7 in Overwatch, COD4, Titanfall). For those with small/mid size hands, palm, claw, or fingertip are all fine, particularly due to the lightweight. This thing crushes in all respects. If you love mice and want to upgrade or are simply looking to cut the cord and start fresh... do it. I don't think I can ever go back to wired.
Update 08/22/2017: Nearly 1 full year after purchase, I have two updates.
#1 - The G900 is still amazing. Everything feels like the day I bought it. Zero issues with battery life.
#2 - There is ONE small annoyance. Once a month or so, even though I've disabled the LED lights, they'll randomly turn on when I wake the mouse. I suspect it's a Logitech Gaming Software issue. All I have to do is go into the software, click into the light area, and suddenly it remembers lights should be off. Takes me 10 seconds or less. This won't affect many people; just be aware!
Update 01/05/2018: The lighting issue is completely solved. I'm not sure what changed, but something did. However, full disclosure, my unit developed severe right clicking issues. We're not talking double click. We're talking triple/quadruple, and it was so messed up I couldn't even hold it down. This was after about a year and 2 months after purchase.
I'm hoping it's a lemon. I contacted Logitech Customer service, who were quite helpful. I've sent it back to them via UPS for an RMA. The process was smooth. I'll update when I receive my new or refurbished mouse. The reason I'm not dropping stars is because my Steelseries, Roccat, and Razers have all developed click issues at varying points in their careers. This is the first time I've had a Logitech mess up, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Update 01/12/2018: They approved my Logitech for renewal. 3 days after shipping it from the States, I received it, so they must've sent it hella priority. When the tiny box arrived, I thought for sure it'd be a refurbished model. Nope. They sent me a brand new G900. My faith in Logitech is renewed. The mouse feels just as amazing as the previous. Re-installing drivers was no issue. I've picked up exactly where I left off without a hitch. I will update if there are any future issues. Still, I'm quite happy with the customer service I received.
Update 05/31/2020:
Still rocking 2 and a half years later. Zero issues. I love this mouse.

Update 05/31/2020:
Still rocking 2 and a half years later. Zero issues. I love this mouse.
The Lamborghini of mice, it looks exotic, I have never spent so much time looking at a mouse before.
I came from a huge bunch of mice before this one, but some worth mentioning are the MX518, the G5, the G700s. The G700s is now up for sale to make room for the G900.
Pros: (I won't bother you with the facts alone, cause you can read those anywhere, rather, I will focus on the sensations).
- When you are using your keyboard, you get to admire the beautiful lines and colors on this mouse. You start noticing they hollowed out the scroll wheel to make it lighter and the reflection from your screen light on the gunmetal center piece on your mouse. Can't go wrong with 16.8 million color combinations of the logitech gaming logo on the back of the mouse.
- When you put your hand on the mouse, it fits perfectly in BOTH hands. My hand is 17.5cm from base of wrist to tip of middle finger. The hand not using the mouse often gets jealous of the one that is.
- Once moving, you notice how light and accurate the mouse is. I feel more nimble but I am probably not. The mouse feels like it will follow every little detail your hand makes. Despite it feeling light, it doesn't feel cheap. You are always in control as it glides smoothly on its 6 teflon feet over any reasonably good mousepad
- You can choose the side button placements, and the number of buttons on each side of the mouse. I personally chose to use all 4 buttons. At first I thought it would be drag to use the two buttons on the outside of the mouse, but I am learning to love them.
- Left and right click feels crisp. Your mouse will never miss a click. The sensation from the mouse buttons is like watching a professional do their job... elegant. When you hit the mouse buttons you get a crisp "click", no fuss, no muss.
- Scroll wheel, takes a day or two to wear in (feels a bit "notchy" at the beginning), but once worn in (by 2 days of use), the scroll wheel turns perfectly. The plastic on the outside of the scroll wheel gives great tactile feedback.
- Wireless use - Its a freeing experience. The braided cord is a nice touch (it is not folded in the packaging to reduce damage), but the resistance from the wire is noticable more on this mouse perhaps due to its light weight. It is something I detest so I prefer to use the mouse wirelessly if possible. With my basic everyday work/gaming I have never noticed any difference between wired/wireless connectivity. I have never experienced interference when using this mouse wirelessly.
- Wireless battery life (3-6 days) depending on usage, charges in under 3 hours from 0%-->100%. Impressive.
- Software is super easy to use (configures just about everything you would like about the mouse)
- Best all around mouse. The mouse is great with work and play. You can set individual profiles and lightings for each of the programs you commonly use.
Cons: (Very hard to find, this is just me being nitpicky)
- Price (It is a $200 mouse, but well worth it IMO)
- Lack of buttons, there are only 2 buttons on one side of the mouse, coming from the G700s, I wish there were slightly more buttons on the sides of the mouse, but it is not a deal breaker/end of the world for me
Conclusion: Get this mouse if you have the money kicking around. It is a joy to use. The G900 is a grown up mouse refined for uncompromised user experience whether you game or not.
it's pretty light so you can just glide around your mouse mat doing 360s to your heart's content, though this isn't optimal for you if you like a mouse with some weight to it. i'm right-handed and not ambidextrous but i don't feel awkward using it. i've also adapted just fine to different mouse shapes in the past, so if a certain shape is really important for you then keep that in mind. i think physically it feels good to use, everything is responsive, tactile feedback is good.
wireless is pretty much the best thing ever. i don't experience input issues or whatever so i'm very happy with the freedom wireless enables me to have. there's literally zero inconvenience and i plug the mouse in when i go to bed, though i'm pretty sure i've used it for 2 or 3 days without recharging and it still has the power to go on. i'm a trash goblin lacking desk space so i don't have space for a bungee and don't like tugging on my mouse cord but i like the braided cord either way.
maybe my only issue would be that the scroll wheel is harder to push than on a mouse like the g502, you have to actually push it instead of just giving it a tap like with other mouse buttons, but you get used to it.
this is an incredibly good mouse with more features than most people need. since i use my mouse for many many hours every single day of my life, sometimes gaming, i'm more than willing to pay a chunk of money for a gaming mouse that performs well. i'd absolutely purchase this exact mouse again. i can't recommend a wireless mouse or really any mouse more than this one. it is absolutely worth the money spent on it. i've only used it for about 5 months so far.
It's much lighter than the G602, but less comfortable since its ambidextrous, while the G602, like many Logitech mice, has a very smooth sculpted feeling that perfectly matches your grip.
The lack of a major thumb rest, which is also a hallmark of many logitech mice, will take some getting used to.
The back of the G900 has a raised crease, which could ride into your palm in some situations when you are moving the mouse towards you. This is compared to other Logitech mice (G602 again) where the rear is flush with the mouse pad, meaning that your palm will never dig into the back of the mouse and prevent it from moving in some situations.
Love the customizable buttons, the buttons on the right are easily accessible even if you are right handed, so you can use them along with the typical left ones.
My main minor issue is that I typical claw grip mice very far back. Since the G900 is a pretty "long" mouse compared to these others, and since there are those very profound indents near the base of each click button, I'm getting used to placing my wrist and fingers further up on the mouse. Initially my fingers would gravitate towards those indents because of how the mouse is shaped. That flat vertical "wall" shape would have been much better as a surface that just meets the mouse click surfaces.
The mid portion of this mouse (the indents and general negative space) will take some getting used to if you typically claw grip mice from far away.
The clicky feeling of the scroll wheel when its in normal mode is great.
Scroll left and right is a great addition and should be standard on all mice.
The first thing I did was turn off the LEDs to extend battery life.
You could also play full time with the wire/cord, its not stiff enough to be a problem.
Very happy with the purchase knowing there's going to be an adaptation period, but that's fine. The issues are nothing compared to the comfort issues I instantly had with the Corsair Scimitar I bought recently, which felt very weird to grasp (very wide and tall mouse), and the click buttons/feedback was terrible.
