Poor Button Quality

This was a replacement mouse for the exact same model that had a "double click" issue on the left button. The issue on the first mouse happened withing a few months of light use so I replaced it under the assumption is was a lemon. The second unit lasted maybe a few weeks before the issue recurred.

The mouse looks great and seems to be built perfectly but the "double click" issue is well documented online and none of the "fixes" listed on forum posts work. There is a defect in the product itself. I contacted Logitech and they responded with the ridiculous steps of discharging the capacitors, which would never be the reason for the issue this mouse has. They then wanted me to send the mouse back myself, I decided shipping and time would be better spent on buying a different brand's mouse instead. I normally love Logitech, but after reading so many complaints about the same issue and then being told I had to ship back on my own when this issue is well documented will make me avoid their products out of principle.

Phantom Left Clicks

After two months the mouse started phantom double clicking 80% of the time. This is a engineered flaw that logitech knows of but will not acknowledge to avoid accountability. And, it can't be fixed, I've tried. Logitech customer service denies any design flaws but will offer a replacement. It's not worth replacing if all you're gonna get is the exact same problem again and again.

Pass it up. I do not recommend this product under any circumstances. You will end up frustrated.

There is s simple fix for the double click issue

First, let me say I love this mouse. Ever since I used it at a job one time, I fell in love with it immediately. So, shortly there after, I purchased one for my personal use. After six months, I started getting the phantom double clicks much like a lot of the reviewers here. I dealt with it for a month or so, but being a programmer, it became very frustrating, very quickly.

I decided to disassemble the mouse and see if I could figure out what might be going on. Once I had the mouse cover off, I used the mouse by clicking the button on the control board with my fingernail. I tested probably fifty clicks with no phantom double click. I decided to test another 50 clicks. No phantom double clicks. This led me to believe it has something to do with the button on the cover. I inspected it and sure enough, there was a divot on the tiny plastic bridge that presses the button on the control board.

So, I grabbed some Scotch gift wrap tape, cut four 1/4" squares, and stacked them on top of each other, then put that on top of the little bridge with the divot in it. I put the mouse cover back on the mouse (without screws just to test it). Guess what. No phantom double clicks! So, apparently that little plastic bridge isn't worth a crap. They should have manufactured it with much more durable plastic.

I took pictures, but I can't upload them to this review. So, here is a step-by-step on how to fix your phantom double clicks:

1) Remove the battery cover
2) Remove the batteries
3) In each battery compartment, you will see a sticker showing which way the battery should go in. Peel that sticker back a little bit (from the rear of the mouse) to reveal a screw. There is one in each compartment
4) Peel off the rubber sliders near the front of the mouse on the bottom. There are two screws underneath these as well. Be careful peeling these off if you want to re-use them. They probably won't look perfect when you put them back on, but if you take care, they will be near perfect.
5) Once you remove the four screws, just pull the top off the mouse. It should come off fairly easy.
6) If you want at this point, put your batteries back in, the battery cover back on, and test your button on the control board (it's near the front. It looks like a rectangular box with a tiny button on top) by clicking around and see if you experience the phantom double clicks. If you don't, then you have the same problem I had. If you do, then you have a different problem probably not fixable by this method.
7) Grab the mouse cover you pulled off and look underneath it. Press the buttons in and you will see the bridge that moves up and down to activate the button on the control board. In the middle of that bridge, you should see a noticeable divot. Make sure you are looking at the correct button (at first, I had them backwards because I was looking at it upside down).
8) Get your Scotch tape and cut 4 pieces of 1/4" squares.
9) Stack the 4 pieces on top of each other. This just makes a thicker layer of tape.
10) Put that stack of tape on top of the bridge with the divot in it. You're essentially just creating a new surface for the bridge and filling in that divot.
11) Place the cover back on the mouse. Without putting the screws back in, test your phantom double clicks. If you clicks are working like they should, then you are good to go.
12) Put the screws back in and carefully put back the rubber sliders.
13) Now, enjoy your mouse again.

The Dreaded "Double Click" Issue

**Be Informed**Please do NOT buy this defective mouse. As mentioned in other reviews, this mouse would register double-clicks when you only click it once. Does not happen every time but it happens enough times for you to notice it. Just google this issue and you would see it is wide-spread. This is a manufacturer defect. I honestly do not think Logitech has any intention of fixing this issue as it has been on-going since this mouse came out. I bought this November 2013 on Amazon and it has this issue. It is a shame as this mouse has a lot of potential. It can have all the "bells" and "whistles" but if it cannot function normally like how a mouse should, then there is no point.

Double click problem

This was a great mouse for a little while, until it started exhibiting the well-documented double click problem many others have experienced. After a few months, with plenty of use, doing a single left click of the mouse will result in a double click. It is very frustrating and can cause a lot of unpredictable behavior. This is my second mouse of the exact same model, and it exhibited the exact same problem. I tried a fix found online -- super gluing a small tab of paper under the button -- and it did not help. If Logitech would fix the problem, I would be back on board in a heartbeat.
