I use this live streaming video camera to see who comes & goes at the feeding site for my cat colony and to see what foster cats are up to in their room at night. Dead simple set-up; plug it in, download the app, find the camera :) No sending out a signal, need to have camera right next to the phone, or third party app, etc... The camera is recognised by Google Home enabling you to share the live feed with others.
Panoramic field of view is huge and in daylight picture quality is fantastic. Attached image is with camera sitting on a window sill in the kitchen. Night vision picture quality is pretty good though a bit granular. Camera can't be used to view the outside from behind a window because sensor beams bounce off window and all you see is glare or what is inside the room.
After a couple of weeks you will be informed that you need to sign-up to keep certain aspects of sensing functionality, e.g., person detection and extended storage, but so far I'm getting what I need, which is saving of a day's worth of motion-activated recordings (whose length you can set), notification when motion is sensed, the ability to stream through individual video clips quickly in fast motion using "Day brief", and the ability to save the mini-videos that I want to keep.
Super strong magnet in base enables mounting to vertical or even upside down surfaces. Super long power chord is also super useful.
Only downsides:
1. If you are videoing the outside, motion detection (which is what starts the recording) is quite sensitive and will start recording when it senses tree branch/leaf movement on a windy day.
2. Battery only seems to handle a few hours of wireless operation before needing recharge. But camera alerts of need to plug in by making a tone and perhaps it can also be set up to send an alert notification.
Definite worth the money!
