It's compact, simple, and aside from the beautiful design, nothing fancy. It's not for gamers or people who need a lot of functionality from their mouse. But it's a sturdy, solid little mouse, and great for traveling.
And it comes with Logitech's 3 year guarantee (unless they've changed that), which for something like an inexpensive mouse, you really can't beat!
I use this mouse as my main "desk" mouse. I am constantly switching which computer is utilizing the display I have set up, so being able to quickly unplug the receiver and plug it into another computer is great! I move my mouse and keyboard with ONE dongle. The mouse is very comfortable for me. My hands are pretty average size for an adult lady. I end up using this mouse extensively with the matching keyboard while working on homework for hours at a time. I don't get any pain or discomfort even after such lengthy usage.
If it says anything, I bought another m325 in purple to take with me to class to use instead of the provided mice. I highly recommend Logitech and particularly the devices with unifying receivers. The m325 is a good mid-size mouse that isn't too big or small, comes in stylish designs, and is a good price for the quality of product.
Also, this model mouse is smaller than your normal mouse. It fits my wife's hand perfectly. I have larger hands, but I like the small footprint for my laptop as it fits better in my laptop case when I travel, and it is comfortable even for my larger hand. So, I don't mind the size. Ergonomically, it works for both of us.
Another nice thing is that it has an on-off switch on the bottom, so you can save your battery by turning it off when you don't use it. It uses a single AA battery and seems to last a long time at least in our house. I like all the different skins you can pick from. My laptop is red so I have a red one. My wife's is blue so she has a blue one. Our daughter is a bird person so this is as close as I could get to a birdy theme. The software works for MACs or Windows OS.You can plug and play immediately and get down to business.
There is nothing I can say negative about this mouse.
I purchased this mouse on August 22, 2012. It officially died January 17, 2013. This seems to be about an average life span for computer mice in my hands. Previous Logitech M305 mice have averaged 1-1.5 years, Microsoft mice considerably less than that. This particular mouse earned platinum status on its frequent flyer miles, traveling loose at the bottom of a 20-25 lb laptop bag under the rest of the electronics. It's death came at the end of a long trip, during which the laptop bag was dropped repeatedly. For those who would ask, my laptops are Lenovo and do not break when the laptop bag is dropped.
The mouse was used an average of 8 hours a day, 7 days a week for its life. The mouse used a single AA battery, which was a bonus, particularly when traveling and spares were not readily available. The battery life on it was considerably longer than the Logitech M305 or Microsoft 3500 mice. I think I went through 3-4 batteries with this mouse as compared to about 12 with the M305.
The M325 is a compact mouse. I prefer a smaller mouse to fit my hand, larger mice tend to tire my hand or cause cramping. The scrolling was good and scrolled on pretty much every surface I tried. I have purchased a new M325 mouse to replace this one.
