The monumental archive Houplain amassed is the foundation of this ultimate logo reference guide, featuring approximately 7,000 specimens organized alphabetically, with information about the designers, year of creation, country, brand, and company. Moreover, the book includes an extensive critical essay on brand culture by French philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky, and an introduction by Ludovic Houplain explaining the creation process of the film Logorama, from its inception to its finalization.
Logobook is a must-have for any designer, student, or marketing professional, and will be equally fascinating to anyone interested in contemporary culture.

problem with this kind of books is to update because logos change and change thanks to branding consultants
Top reviews from other countries
They are arranged alphabetically and a nice touch was starting with numbers before the A selection. The first logo is 007 then 1c, 2wire, 3Com, 3-in-one etc. Throughout the book there is an average of eight to a page with probably half in colour and another nice touch is that they are all beautifully printed, no badly screened edges here. Each logo gets brief caption like this: Fisher-Price; Mattel Inc; USA,1984; [Toys, Games & Models] and many get a designer credit too. There is an additional caption feature, a little arrow beside every company that had it's logo in the short movie Logorama. The book's author is Ludovic Houplain and he was the co-director of the short (a frame from it is used on the book's wraparound cover). The back of the book has a huge thirty page company and designer index. Pentagram leads the pack with fifty-nine marks, followed by Landor Associates with forty-four and Lippincott have thirty-three.
If you like looking at logos and appreciating the thought that goes into these designs this well printed title is a bargain. Other publishers would most likely have made this into a two book special but Taschen (as usual) delivers the goods.

Page after page of Logos!
Shows previous logos for some companies
CONS
Does not show all of a companies previous logos.
In summation, it provides an excellent starting point for me to create a logo from!
There are thousands of different logos of many international brands. It is a very useful and inspiring reference book.
