Con:...you store the pens upright. The problem us that these pens are constantly drying up mid-sentence. I use them for journaling. Also, you really need a hard surface under them to be the ink to flow nicely. I tries to do swatches of each pen and there are six that I've not been able to swatch because the ink won't come out. I've tried all the tricks. Also, the color selection is odd and glitter pens don't have much glitter.
Please don't misunderstand me; while I am disappointed enough to give this product four stars instead five for it's lack of uniqueness.. I am not saying that the gel pens aren't any good .
I feel this set meets the same quality expectations that I have come to expect from the other Lolliz sets that I own. The all flowed smoothly without needing scratched. They didn't skip and are very nice hues.
Overall these are very good gel pens and I would recommend them to those who don't own the 100 pack.
They write about as you'd expect. Arguably better than the kinds I used when I thought I was cool during middle school in late 90s/early 00s. No use in regretting life, so I kept the pens.
If you're using these for coloring be aware they do go fairly quickly. Enough that you can see the difference between the ink level from start to finish of a piece if you're doing more than accents.
Compared to my Sakura Gelly Roll pens these hold there own in most respects but have them hands down in how the ink will lay down. The Lolliz lay down fairly smooth and at an even flow unlike other brands that seem to overflow while writing/coloring. All the colors/styles once dry , which is a decent time, are vivid. They look just as good down the road as they did the day you first laid the color down. They are also acid free and non toxic which is great for those looking to use them for archival purposes or around children.
The case that the pens come in is lackluster at best. Inside the container the pens are laid out in trays that they "lock" into but the trays are just a thin flimsy plastic that with moderate use will fall apart quickly. I was able to purchase a Plano (the 6800 I think?) lure/tackle box from Walmart for about $4 that works well and allows you to sub-divide as you like. It allows for the storage of all the pens and then some and by their category rather then jumbled together.
For an everyday gel pens these are more then capable and a good price. They do have some minor flaws, such as several of my pens had ink that was separated in the pen tube(see pictures) as well the occasional ink flow issues. I have also found that while they seem to write on just about any paper, there are some types they don't like as much. Especially paper that has any kind of coating or waxy surface as do some of the newer adult coloring books. I would however buy these again as the few flaws are far outweighed by the positives.
