Gameplay
Lollipop Chainsaw is a Hack and Slash Action game. To combat and kill zombie enemies, players utilize a combination of available attacks. Light attacks, in the form of punches kicks, and the like can be used in taking on small numbers of enemies, or to maneuver enemies into the most convenient position when faced with a numerical disadvantage. Stonger attacks against single or multiple enemies are unleashed using Juliet's devastating chainsaw. Even stronger advanced attacks are possible by filling up Juliet's star meter. The decapitated, but quite alive severed head of Juilet's boyfriend Nick can be used in attacks as well, and success in attacks allows for the upgrade of Juliet's chainsaw.

Tara Strong and Michael Rosembaum give solid voice work to the main and supporting characters respectively and the combat of chainsaws, martial arts wrapped up with over the top humor and valley girl charm works very well.
Sometimes the levels can drag out a bit but the compliment of the actors and style of the game make up for it. Weapon types also change up each level and you can upgrade your character with additional moves and health. You can also unlock additional outfits and artwork from the game - from the looks of it, it could take a while depending on how much loot you are able to collect and how well that you battle!
Graphically it looks pretty nice for a SUDA51 game and the sound effects and music are fitting. Never gets tiring of hearing certain licensed pop/punk tunes and kicking zombie limbs - such as Toni Basil's "Mickey." Combat works well, again for a SUDA51 game and progressively gets better as you upgrade your character. Sometimes it can feel a little stiff in the beginning but you can easily get into a rhythm as you play.
There were a few times I felt like a hit a stumbling block in the game where you had to complete an objective or the gameplay style changes where you have to be a certain camera angle and use only a certain weapon. It took a bit of the punch out of the game, but the hilarity that was going on kept it interesting and eventually I was able to progress.
No horrid glitches have been found but there were sometimes where npc characters did overlap, but these were in special situations and not the norm.
Cutscenes involved both action comics and full in game character model scenes that keeps this parody rolling. Definitely a mature game but very tongue and cheek.
I highly recommend for someone looking for something different but just know what you are getting into!
L.C. works mostly cause it shouldn't and it also brakes the forth-wall in little hints
The Story (Suda51 and James Gunn co-wrote the script) the story is a short and sweet love letter to three iconic zombie genre director's
George A. Romero, Lucio Fulci, and Dan O'Bannon
You play as a buxom blonde barley legal high school cheerleader Juliet who attends San Romero High (She is a cheerleader but, she's also a zombie hunter her entire family is
The game itself takes place on Juliet's 18th B-Day and all in a 24hr. period
San Romero High is infected with the walking dead and Juliet most take control and try and save her school and her boyfriend Nick
Needless to say Nick doesn't make it out of the chaos so Juliet brings Nick's decapitated head back to life
Juliet being a blonde figures I'll make Nick a part of my wardrobe and hooks her talking head boyfriend to her skirt!
That alone should make any Adult gamer snag this title
The Controls are a bit strange at first once you get the hang of the controls they ain't terrible more annoying but, it doesn't in anyway break the game itself
Graphics: It's a decent looking game if you are a fan of Suda51 you'll understand this art style much more
There games are very "Far East" but, this game looks very North American the biggest problem with the overall look is the fixed camera angles will make you a angry video game nerd......
The Gameplay is hack and slash with some minor platforming elements
the main hub of the game is Juliet's bedroom where you can change her outfit once you beat a level you can always go back and play it over for money and a better ratting
Audio: (The v/o cast is great everyone does a bang up job there is also great under-rated/buried treasure licensed music
The song You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) by Dead or Alive is used brilliantly as Juliet is on a tractor in a field mowing down zombies!
Insane but, also brilliant
The voice over cast is also top notch all around:
the v/o casting director did a great job
Tara Strong as Juliet Starling (awesome she has a great voice) this couldn't been so wrong with a v/o actress who has no real emotion and sounded like a Paris Hilton thankfully Tara understood the script and knocked it out of the park!
Michael Rosenbaum as Nick (Great edgy v/o performance on paper you shouldn't like Nick but, Michael puts a lot of heart and soul into a typical cookie cutter quarterback type
Kimberly Brooks as Rosalind Starling the youngest daughter in the Starling family
(Kimberly is a real deal v/o princess) her work speaks for itself!
Linda Cardellini as Cordelia Starling the big sister to Juliet and Rosalind
(having a a-list star to do a video game like this is a bit strange but, Linda pulls her weight and does very good)
Gregg Henry as Gideon Starling aka Dad (I love Gregg Henry the man is a under-rated character actor)
Vanessa Marshall as Elizabeth Starling aka Mom (She much like Kimberly and Tara is a super talented v/o actress)
Michael Rooker as Vikke
Shawnee Smith as Mariska
Dave Fennoy as Josey (a real deal v/o actor he does a lot of work with Telltale Games along with many other studios)
The Mature factor: Don't let the cute sounding name of this game full you!
This is very much a adult game they got away with a lot of language and lots of sexual under-tones (This game is more adult then the uncut versions of BMX XXX imo this title would've never got a Mature rating during the ESRB shakedown years ago
Some kid that's under 12 has no business playing this game but, what do i know......
Overall this game is a real must play on the surface it might seem shallow and empty it's not James Gunn wrote a very smart parody of zombie video games! The biggest negative in North America we never got HQ dlc packs (with bonus stories, etc.) 9.2/10
Hopefully WB does the right thing and pushes for a follow-up

Main weapons are Cheerleader Pom Poms and a chainsaw. Lollipops figure prominently- replenish health. Also the soundtrack is killer.
Rock and Roll.
The game itself is really fun! I am sure horror, anime and zombie fans will really enjoy it.
