From the moment I opened Lone Wolf in Jerusalem I realized I was reading one of the most exciting and well structured historical novels in a very long time! The author, Ehud Diskin, has provided a cast of believable well structured characters with complex but easy to grasp histories in post World War Two Jerusalem. While striving under biased British control and Arab hostility, the Lone Wolf fights a personal war with the goal of aiding in the reestablishment and dream of a reborn Jewish nation. Utilizing a very fluid historical flash back technique, the author builds the foundation of the raison d'etre of the principal characters and utilizes historical points that reinforce the story line.
With lots of action, romance, tragedy and pathos throughout the book, Lone Wolf in Jerusalem will keep you riveted to the end of the story!
I learned much about the struggles of the Jewish people and the strength they show to the world.
Action, suspense, romance set in British Mandatory Palestine in the days before the establishment of the State of Israel.
Gripping and hard to put down. It will keep you reading late into the night!
It will make a great film.
Well, if you are David, then you know what it means to lose everyone you love at the hand of the Nazis and you also know a thing or two about stealth and attacking your enemy. Better yet, you know how to blend in without losing sight of your goal.
Thanks for the eARC Netgalley, I got to be in David's world, to fight his battles and the author made sure I held my breath every time he went on a mission.
