These guides are consistently good. Nice detail, good route recommendations and good comments. Used in conjunction with other guide books it provides a nice point of view, easy to read between the lines as to whether a spot is worth investing travel time in.

This is a great and useful book, except that it does not cover Salisbury, Stonehenge, and several other areas that are listed under "Southwest England" in Lonely Planet's full Great Britain book.

Covers a lot, good info. Obviously does not cover everything, reasonably portable in pockets or backpacks. Well made, good photgraphs.

... but this edition is not only inconvenient, it is just crap. Besides some useful LP info I couldn't find any budget accommodation and any budget bar or restaurant. In fact, there was nothing good-value priced at all. I wonder what all the other guides will be like ...
