Clover and her daughter, Hayley, come into town after Aunt Ginny passes away to pack up the house where she lived her whole life. Clover meets Wade, a sexy cowboy with a black Stetson hat and all, in the painting aisle of the local hardware store, and Wade becomes determined to get to know Clover.
This is a really sweet, short romance about two lonely individuals making a connection as strangers and falling in love. Anyone who loves cowboys and romance will enjoy this story.
*I got a copy of this book from the author.
This book was really cute and easy read, but the characters go from taking things slower to BAM! Poof! the books over. I really liked the book, but I was disappointed when it was all of a sudden over. The chemistry between Wade and Clover is electric and you can't help but root for them to try to overcome their shyness. The only problem I found with the book was it was over all of a sudden. I would've liked it to go a little more in the future instead of just ending!
I liked both Clover and Wade, but I felt the relationship progressed faster than I would have liked. They had a fun first date but then the ending seemed rushed. This is my first story by this author, and it was interesting enough for me to try another.
Note: I received a review copy from eBook Discovery Read and Review Club. This is my honest review.
This is a short story that doesn't read like one. I really enjoyed getting to know Clover and Wade. Haley, Clover's daughter, was an enjoyable bonus.
Clover is so over men from her rotten divorce and Wade had nothing but bitterness in his life since his rotten divorce. He took one look at Clover in the paint department of the local hardware store and just had to get to know her. Haley unwittingly gave him a way to get to know Clover and he took full advantage of it.
Again, this is a very short story, but oddly enough it did not feel rushed. It is clean and leaves you with a really good feeling.
