Editorial Reviews

In four decades, Krokus played over 2,000 shows across 5 continents. Every gig, every place and every crowd was different, but all showed tremendous enthusiasm towards the band. Krokus recorded 20 shows for release consideration, eventually deciding on their last sold out show, recorded in their hometown at the House of Rust on August 30th 2013.

Very good live CD, but be aware. If you're an American fan of Krokus, you will probably be surprised that only one song is from three of the band's four most successful CDs in the U.S.--Headhunter, The Blitz, and Change of Address--which were released between 1983 and 1986. Most of the material is either from the newer CDs (since 2007) or from three CDs that were released from 1980 to 1982--Metal Rendez-Vous, Hardware, and One Vice at a Time, the latter of which brought the band its first U.S. hit, Long Stick Goes Boom. I assume that the band chose its setlist with its larger European audience in mind, as Krokus became a strong radio presence in Europe with those three CDs released between 1980 and 1982 and continues to be more popular in Europe than in the U.S. I get the reason for the live CD's setlist, and I like the CD a lot, but I have to admit to being a bit surprised by the song choices.

In this day of flash-in-the-pan rockers, Krokus has delivered a great live album with both old and new material. Glad they are still here to help us older, original, rockers get through the rubble of the modern music industry.

These guys do their homework. They are so tight live. The drums are pounding & crisp. Marc's voice still rips. He reminds me of Bon Scott. The guitars are so crunchy & tasty, and the recording is Superb... you can hear everything. Check it out for some reckless abandon sound. With the popularity of AC/DC... these guys deserve more attention.

I have been a Krokus fan since the late 70's.I got to see them back stage in 1980 at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. They we're opening up for Blackfoot and Ted Nugent. The moment they started playing "Rock City"I was even more hooked on them. They put on such a great show and by putting out this live album (Long Stick Goes Boom) and to me this live album blows "Screaming in the night away.It stays in my cd tray at all times. There is not a bad song on the cd.They put 100 % in every song they play. From Marc's clear screaming voice to Fernando's and Mark's guitar playing this cd just totally ROCKS! It will be a sad day when the guys decide to call it quits. But until than I hope they keep putting out new music because this Krokus fan will keep on buying. One more thing....Marc, Fernanando and band if you could is there anyway you could come back and play in Indianapolis.Myself and all the other Krokus fans will be there. And just one more thing...Buy This CD!

Krokus's latest audio CD release titled(long stick goes boom, live) is a five-star performance both musically and vocally. A must listen for any rock 'n roll, metal maniac. The set list was very well chosen. Congratulations to the band Krokus , a live concert well done. We would like to see( long stick goes boom, live )on Blu-ray DVD.

Recorded live at a show in Solothurn, Switzerland on August 30, 2013. Tunes here I could not get enough of on this must-own live Krokus CD were the power-packed title cut opener "Long Stick Goes Boom", their well-received cover of the Guess Who classic "American Woman", the one-time MTV favorite "Screaming In The Night", "Hellraiser", the ass-kicking "Bedside Radio", "Easy Rocker", "Heatstrokes" (one of my old Krokus favorites) and the rocking "Live For The Action". Every bit as great as their etal'Fire And Gasoline' live 2-CD (see my review). Fastest seventy minutes that I've ever encountered, as far as a CD goes. Didn't realize - at first that this live disc featured so may tunes off the band's 'Metal Rendez-vous' ('80) album. Includes CD booklet with a most beautiful digi-pack job on the packaging. Very nice.

Krokus are one of those bands that basically popped up during the NWOBHM period. They are good at what they do, which is, simple, heavy hard rock, with a touch of metal in the mix. For the most part, the songs are solid and enjoyable. This being a live album, has a good mix of old and new, though their last album, was less than desirable. They said it was one of their best, I say worst, but that is just my opinion....This one is a good one to have, to play at a party, or while you are partying yourself. Fun and harmless, and worth the cheap price, the only reason I got it.
