I keep coming back wanting to see the old Kristen Osbourne. I just can't stay away. I mean what happened? Her books used to be light-reads with great story lines, and beautiful written chemistry between the hero and heroine. Her books had heavy subjects (divorces, deaths, betrayals, etc...) but they were written so differently. It is like I am reading a new author now. Where did it start changing and why? I don't know why I keep torturing myself and coming back looking for what is no longer there. It is just so hard to let go of something what was soooo good. I mean I can't believe I am the only one that can read this and nobody else is mentioning this.
Anyway, I stopped reading this book at the point she is talking to her friend about how hero was mad at her for what she did. I just could not believe she would talk about personal stuff to another person, especially since it was her fault for what occurred. Also, sex doesn't forgive everything!!! My feelings are still hurt, hero might have forgiven, but I still hold anger towards heroine. Enough already, I said my say.
The story addresses the wounds left behind and shows us that everyone is deserving of love.
Seth is a sweet man who is willing to be strong and vulnerable depending on what it takes to make his wife happy.
So excited to get to catch up on what's happening with other couples Dr. Lachele matched!
Michelle doesn't think anyone could possibly love her, outside of her family. She's been stuck in a loveless relationship for 9 years, the past 3 engaged to marry. When Bob asks to see her on an atypical Wednesday, she thinks he's going to tell her that he's added more to the guest list. Little does she know, Bob's about to spring a huge surprise on her, and NOT the good kind!
Michelle is not going to waste the time and planning she has put into this wedding, not to mention the money. She intends to get married on the set day and then leave on her meticulously planned Disney Honeymoon, complete with Bride and Groom Mouse Ears!
Enter Dr. Lachele.
Seth sees how happy his best friend, Daniel, is with his Matchrimony Bride. He wants some of that sweet action too. He wants love and a family. He owns his own business, so he's not locked down to the Boston area. He tells Dr. Lachele he wants someone just like Daniel's new Bride.
Dr. Lachele has another successful couple in Michelle and Seth. But, there are plenty of bumps to go around and throw a monkey wrench into the mix. Imagine finding out your whole wedding and honeymoon was planned with another man in mind. Crazy! Will Seth be able to forgive Michelle? Will they be able to work things out? When Seth declares his love for her, will she finally believe that someone else could love her? Michelle has a lot of self hate to work through.
Kirsten doesn't disappoint on the humor! Adding to the long list of euphemisms (Bumping Boobies, Tallywackers, Goobies, Goods, Joysticks, Honkers, Dairy Sections, Laverne's and Shirley's, and Videogame references in the bedroom), we now have Mr. Happy. And at one point, Mr. Happy is actually Grumpy! (Quite appropriate for Disney, right?) While at dinner with Daniel and Brenda (from the previous book, Blushing in Boston - At The Altar #7), Brenda shows Daniel a picture that Michelle texted her of herself and Seth standing in front of Cinderella's Castle with Bride and Groom Mouse Ears atop their heads. Daniel has something to say to that "Henderson, you've got it bad. You posed in front of a Disney castle wearing those ridiculous mouse ears? Why not just let her put a leach around your joystick and lead you around that way?" LOL Best quote in the book!!! Michelle thinks to herself "...not going to calmly discuss penises at the dinner table." Too funny!
Grab a copy of this book and take a wild ride on this adventure, it's worth it! I'm now off to the next book in this (At The Altar) series, Nursing in Northlake, book #9, featuring Dr. Slade Henderson, Seth's twin brother.
