I am a huge fan of Aria Grace. I like her writing style and have read and enjoyed many of her books. For some reason, I missed this one and i found out why: "rent boy" as a MC. I tend to steer clear of the "rent boy genre but this is Aria Grace; so I carried on. I loved it. I met Georgie from another book and I fell in love with him all over again. I thought YEA a happy ending for him. Georgie is a high end rent boy; a bit flamboyant, and Evan, a bit of a recluse in the dating scene due to a bad breakup two years ago. They meet at party by mutual friends and the sparks fly. A miscommunication between Evan and Georgie could have nipped the sparks in the bud had they not decided to "trust" one another and not let preconceptions hinder them in finding their HEA and their second chance at love. This was a delightful, engaging and entertaining read.I have not read this series in order but reading prior books enriched this story. I ended up buying my copy to complete the series.
I finished this in one day, but waited a couple of days to let it all settle before writing this review(I often do that.) It may contain some spoilers(but not really).
I only read the first book in this series, but it's true, you don't need to read them in order. It's obvious who the previous couples are (from the previous books). Evan and Georgie actually have mutual friends but don't meet each other(or hear about one another) until they are dragged to (another) mutual friend's party.
On one hand we have Evan. He the older man, in his mid-thirties(oldest of his friends). He's all bummed because he's single and is sure he won't find 'the one'. I don't remember a lot about him now.
Georgie has his game plan. Work, save money, (hopefully) make it into a special fashion program in New York and make it big in fashion. His work... He's a rent boy. Georgie is very flamboyant. There is one client who he thinks might be the one for him. He's wrong. So, his sorry ass is pulled to the party. He wants to find 'the one'. Real love.
Evan and Georgie both don't they will find love. They have their own reasons why, but they meet at the party. There is some miscommunication(isn't there always).
Sparks fly, sex happens. Georgie's an ass at first but they work on their relationship. Together they have to learn what they truly desire and made some big decisions.
The ending. I don't really remember it. I do remember it was not sad and it felt like it just ended(though left open for the next book-- couple). I would have liked a more well-rounded ending for them as a couple.
What was the most memorable thing from this story. There was a sentence that ended with the word 'at'. I know I do it myself(I'm trying my darnedest to quit this habit), but that stuck. It was about making a dinner reservation.
Overall, I think it was a good read and something nice to pass the afternoon.
This book was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review.
This is a nice easy afternoon read. The two MC's are Georgie, a high priced escort looking to break into the fashion industry, and Evan, a long distance trucker. Both men are looking for "the one". After a disappointment with one of his clients, Georgie is dragged to a party by his friends, there he meets Evan, whose friends also dragged him. They are introduced and after a bumpy start the two start dating.
Both characters are likeable, their friends are supportive, and with one little bit of angst it reads pretty straight forward.
I thought some of Georgie's sex talk with his clients was pretty funny.
I'd like a bit more back story and maybe more angst, but like I said, this is a nice afternoon read! I'll try another of this authors books.
