Despite the danger and the looming return of the villainous Dengel, Eric's enthusiasm for magic will help him see through all the trickery and deception that stands in his way. Those magic fans looking for something a little more unusual will have to go elsewhere, but fans of the traditional fantasy genre will certainly find Looming Shadow to be a solid and pleasing read.

When I refer to a Fantasy Kitchen Sink, does everyone know what I am talking about?
For those who fear the gravimetric horror of TVTropes, it refers to a setting where everything can exist, even if they have wildly different origins: aliens, gods, wizards, vampires, management consultants, hillbillies, etc., etc. Anything and everything is thrown together, and mixed thoroughly. And Brian Wilkerson has done just that, in his Journey to Chaos series: he has taken everything that he likes (with a strong lean toward Japanese anime and video games), thrown it into a giant blender, and hit 'liquify', resulting in a jumbled but delicious mess.

The adventures of Eric Watley continue with snow, explosions, mana mutation, reapers, The Exile, Dengel defacing, deities and Chaos.
A great storyline, masterful descriptions, colorful characters.
I am already looking forward to the 3rd story in the series.

Hmm let's see bit info about book may contain mild spoilers?
1, loved how had a bit of character index for reminder of what's what but if possible can please add character's too at least ones been in previes books as nice easy reminder, and maybe short info about what's already happened.
2, about characters a bit anyway -
3, would be great in parts were switch between characters is more clearly stated that changed and who too as was same confusing when did early in book and was wondering why at least for a while why it all suddenly changed.
4, Dear author why oh why did have to have someone G\f go there with him was a bit annoying and she seemed to just be in his and story's way all time, was ok when they parted and better when she hardly in it anymore only character didn't like in it really for many reasons.
5, poor tasio he very mis understudy character by offers lol even if is a menace bring whole be carful what you wish for to, to mind he's a great character and really fun and well written.
6, hope main male character gets better at physical parts too maybe enchanting a bit he needs better items magical and armor's clothes extra. Would like to see him spending some of money he earns on things too as never says what he does with money or what he may want to aquaire and work to get it or them it would be good to add this for him and offer characters. I mean surly he not have just staff and what brought with him? And maybe buying things for home and maybe more security added too?
7, please say tire hug or just hug or something instead of glomped I mean what and can call his home world Earth not what called hear as he from Earth and its much easier to follow this way what he's talking about.
I'll stop hear or would go on and on loleasierx for release in ebook author.
While most people will say that Eric is their favourite character he is not mine. My favourite is Tasio I like characters who are nothing short of the word CRAZY. I liked it when he showed Emily his copy of looming shadow (the script as he called it).
I am happy that this book did not spend as much time developing even more the relationship between Eric and Annala as I think it would have taken the place of something that would have had more action and suspense.
While It took me two days to read this book. It is only because I had to sleep if I had not I would have read the whole book in one day.
I'm really curious what Tasios end game with Eric really is as we got a small hint of it right at the very end if this will be the plot to the third book it already has me intrigued and yearning for the next book.
hopefully it won't take as long to write the third book in the series.
