This game is amazingly fun, and can be learned in two minutes flat. (one sentence and a quick demonstration with random cards)

It is appropriate for almost any age (they say 8 and up, but I know I would have loved this when I was 5) and is played daily (and emphatically) in the lunchroom of the Law firm I work for. Every day there are at least three people playing, and while it says 2-5 players, the only problem we've had expanding the game up to 8 people, is making sure the the people with the shortest arms are closest to the play/discard pile.

It says nothing about this in the rules, but we pretty much instinctively started calling out the name of what symbol we were matching, which has occasionally led to people thinking that we were cussing if they hadn't seen us play before (Ship and Bucket especially can lead to odd looks if misheard)

Our current group of 9 regular players (usually about 5 a day, because at least a couple people have to work through lunch) ranges in age from 22-40, and includes attorneys, most of the accounting department, paralegals, and clerks. We get so competitive playing, and racing each other to be able to get our cards down fastest, that I've had to buy a second set of cards, because the first set has had cards get bent, torn, and once even knocked across the room and into the sink.

We have a fairly extensive game library (25 different games/variants) that we keep in the accounting office, because we're all gamers, ranging in mood and complication from Monty Python Fluxx, through 7 Wonders, and up to Archipelago and Betrayal at House on the Hill, which we used to rotate through regularly, but ever since I picked this up, we've gotten spoiled and start getting impatient whenever we try to play a different game and have to TAKE TURNS.

This is also the only game in the entire library where people walking through the kitchen get sucked in, and eventually let us deal them in the next round. (^ˬ^)

This went into my 7 year old's Easter basket. At first she was a bit freaked out by the illustrations, particularly the brain one, and then she decided to be brave and play the game. We cannot get enough! My husband and I play with her and we have so much fun. We don't dumb down the game for her so it's a great equalizer. She wins quite a bit! We are big fans of these card games (Cardline Animals, Sushi Go, etc.) and are happy to add Loonacy to our collection.

Players-Two to Five
Set-Up/Play/Clean-Up- Five minutes (YEP! FIVE MINUTES)
TL;DR-SLAM DOWN CARD FUN! 93%

Basics-I usually do long, drawn out, complicated games, but here goes a quickie. Loonacy is a quick shape matching game. Each card has two shapes dividing the card in two. If you play Fluxx, you will recognize all the shapes are former card art from all the different Fluxx games. There will be between four and one piles of cards. Players rapidly SLAM cards onto piles where at least one shape matches. There are NO turns, and no quarter given! Can't play a card? Then you point to the draw deck, and when all players are pointing, you draw, and start again. No turns, not long thought process, just slamming cards down as quick as possible. AMAZING! First one out of cards wins!

Theme-There is no theme here, but then again, there should never be theme in this kind game. 0/0

Mechanics-The game is quick and simple. It's not bad, but for my crowd, some of the hard-core Eurogamers got in fights over how to draw cards. REALLY GUYS!? It's fun, but a bit simple. 4.5/5

Instructions-The instructions cover one side of a page. That's it. But, you don't need any more instructions than that! 5/5

Execution-Cards are nice, and the art is good. BUT, I really hate recicled art. This product is ONLY recycled art as it's all the art from every fluxx game out there. It's not bad art, but it's recycled. If you can get past that, it's a great product. 4.5/5

Summary-Want a card slapping game you and your friend can play at Burger King at 4AM after a marathon DnD game? Here you go!

Loonacy
MFG: Looney Labs
#of Players: 2 - 5
Age Range: 8+

Overall Construction: Loonacy is a card game with Bridge sized cards and of average quality. They appear to have used artwork from several of the decks of Fluxx. There are a few I don't recognize, but there is also a Halloween/Monsters Exclusive deck that I haven't been able to find. It comes in the divided card box that the newer Looney Labs card games come in now. The rules are a single sheet of paper that has been multi-folded to fit in the top of the box. I recommend a rubber band for keeping the box sealed while travelling with it, if you decide to take it places to play with friends.

Gameplay: Loonacy plays a lot like Spot It!. Each card has 2 images on it, kind of like a domino. In Loonacy each player is given seven (7) cards and there are a number of discard piles based on the number of players. With 2 players there are 4 discard piles, all the way up to 1 discard pile for 5 players. The rules will tell you exactly how many. When all players are ready then the players will start discarding their cards. THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC TURNS. All players keep trying to match at least one image on the card to one of the images on the card on the top of the discard pile. Until one person is able to go out.
Please be careful when discarding cards because there is potential for people to get injured! I personally jammed my moms hand and was accused of knocking my sister's boyfriend's hand out of the way preventing him from going out.

Yes/No Recommend: This has been one of the best new games to come out of Looney Labs in a while. It may seem like a rehash of other matching games I've seen, but this game was so full of inter-activity that it kept everyone involved and enjoying themselves.
