If you are leading a group, it's good to know this book has some chapters that are long and typically the one following it is short. This is great in case you want to use the next meeting to continue the longer chapter as well as get into the short one. I had previously attended a small group who studied this book and now that I'm leading, it gives more meaning as I use the author's recommended questions. by studying the names of God, you naturally know Him better (as the title states) and know His character in a more meaningful way. You could use this study on your own as well. I find myself starting the names of God when I need to focus in prayer as well as in daily life. This book is guiding me to know Him on a more personal level.
Also, Kay Arthur's study layout takes one step-by-step through each name, including specific scriptures, questions, memory verses, and even guidelines for small groups to follow. It does take some time to complete each chapter and is probably best if one has plenty of time for reflection, prayer, and writing. That said, this is a wonderful study that I believe will deepen what I already know about God.
