Cecelia Mecca is a kick arse author. I love this series. When a new book comes out it is like revisiting old friends that you haven't seen for a while.
For those out there who have not yet read a Mecca book, you cannot go wrong.
Cecelia Mecca has again written an amazing story that will pull you in with her wonderful prose and vivid descriptions.
The scenes are painted vividly, making you feel you're there. It's an emotional, romantic book that captured and held me from start to finish.
This story is emotional and devours you as you read it, tearing yourself from the book is not an option.

Ms. Mecca has done extensive research on medieval times and the book envelopes you in the sights, sounds smells and customs of 1271, so you feel transported back in time. And the book is very romantic, with nice steamy love scenes, as the lust and love develops between Bryce and Catrina. Sparks fly everywhere. The book has a good and dramatic ending, which you will have to read for yourself. Enjoy!
This story has it all for me. Romance that builds slowly, very suspenseful, and great depth of character's. There is also, humor thrown in because our h was a great character and her banter with the H was worth watching it all unfold.
Be warned the Lord's name is taken in vain several times if not more. There is passionate lovemaking, outside of marriage and sizzling descriptive, but not vulgar.
It was nice to have the couple from book 1 be involved in this story and I enjoyed them in this story. This can be a stand alone, even though book 2 of the series.
This story has many layers, that made it a quick read. We have a cute epilogue not far into the future. We do get HEA, no cliffhanger and I hope the next book goes on sale soon (I read too many books to pay a lot), because I would love to read about the h's brother.
I am not going into the blurb as so many have explained it, just what you may get out of reading it. (ljb)

After retaking Bristol Manor from Clan Kerr, who killed Bryce and his siblings parents.
Bryce is driven by revenge, but when one of his scouts finds a severely injured woman and brings her to the keep he will start to find out things my not have been quite how he thought.
I can't wait for the next story.
I received an ARC of this book but any opinions are honest and my own.
Thank you so much and I look forward to reading more of your books.
