Update: The system keeps resetting itself and I keep losing my recording times. I just viewed 8 days of recordings and the last four were not the times I had set, but a default setup because the system reset itself - again. This has occurred many times. Consider another security package.
Original Review: So far they work just fine with high quality Hi-res images during the day. Night recordings are, well, night vision recordings. Do not expect the same detail identifiable night recordings you get with daytime recordings. The software has some glaring weaknesses but overall it does the job. The user manual is really wanting for detailed information. Scheduling recordings is most confusing. It is easy to schedule recordings but there is no way to see all the schedule that you have set up. If you set up different recording times for different days of the week for each camera, you had better write them down or you will have to restore default settings and start all over again.
I think I just had my expectations too high. I set it up all over my home, set up the viewing device... and could only read 1 camera. Ok.... off to check the cameras, and reset. Done, tested, good. Relax. Set up in my room.... and only 1 camera worked. Maybe it's just a bad room?
Ok, try setting up viewing device in another room. Awesome! All 4 cameras work! Nice. Come check again 10 minutes later... all still showing images, but from10 minutes ago. Now the entire device is frozen, can't shut it down. Figure out some way to reset to factory settings.... and now also have to reset all the cameras.
But I was determined! I went through the entire process a second time with the same results. For the amount of money this cost, it just wasn't worth the headache and aggravation. Even if I could get the device to quit freezing, the viewing pad couldn't read the cameras where I needed it. I also question the security of this, considering it doesn't use your Wifi to communicate between the devices. But I'm a member of the generation that doesn't believe in anything that doesn't connect to the internet :)
I packed this sucker up and returned it. I really wanted to like it. My in laws love it, so maybe you will too.
If you want wifi camera that can be accessed from you phone anywhere, with easy setup, look up Foscam.
Amy, your Customer Service Representative, barely understands English, and told us, the product is out of warranty, so go by a new one. You replaced the broken monitor 7 months ago, and once again it breaks down, and you provide NO SERVICE.
STAY AWAY FROM LOREX!

Update May 2017- The 4 camera system is still working well. We still have the problem with the motion sensors but it works well enough that we can find what we are looking for. I do wish we could add more cameras to the system.
Now, August 27, 2015 the second camera failed, just 8 days past the warranty. For a company with so many good commercial products this is not excusable. My advice is not to purchase.
UPDATE: Nov 10, 2017 Had sent an email to Lorex wishing to purchase a replacement camera for one that has now failed. Since the model has been discontinued had little hope. A few days later received UPS notifications of two shipments. Today received two refurbished cameras to replace the one failed camera. No charge.
I would have to revise my opinion of Lorex support !
