Entertaining story. The ending was satisfying but unexpected. I thought I had picked up on some foreshadowing and was expecting other occurrences.
While I wasn’t disappointed with the story line, some details seemed like they were leading in one direction and didn’t get as thoroughly explored or didn’t play out as I expected.
Still, it was an enjoyable read and a nice vacation read.

Lorraine works in a Medical Office. She has been in a relationship with Sean, ten years her junior for six to eight years. She is heartbroken when she is jilted and an escape might be just what she needs to ease her pain.
Luigi is divorced and works in the Theatre Department of a college. He frequently travels to Australia.
Luigi and Lorraine are seated next to each other on their flight and he strikes a conversation. She is a little reluctant to begin with but he is so open about his life that she starts to relax a little. She is unable to get Sean off her mind. She has another reason to go to Australia. To find a connection with the letters she found in her grandmother's closet.
Being familiar with Australia, Luigi offers to be Lorraine's tour guide. They become friends and she gets more comfortable in his company as she gets to know him. Lorraine meets Sheila, someone who feels familiar and they soon become friends. Sheila offers her an opportunity in the art world. Without knowing much about Sheila or the offer, she accepts. A little unwise as she might be putting herself in danger!
I like Luigi's character. He is honest and caring. Lorraine can't get over the breakup and keeps thinking about where she went wrong. From her flashbacks, it appears that Sean has only his looks going for him. She starts to have flashbacks about her childhood and her grandmother as well.
It's a short and easy to read novel. The characters are likable. It gives a good overview of the tourist places in Australia. There is a blackmarket, where the natives are being exploited. It ends on a good note but has the feel of a prequel to something more. (It does say After She Left Me, Book 1) on purchase.
