By Mike Reed VINE VOICE on December 30, 2015
Format: Audio CD
Couldn't believe that I waited -so long- to finally get my mitts on a physical copy of this French import CD. Initially released in 1974, as this was the German - Ambient / krautrock artist's sole record. Liking it so much- eve more than I had expected, as 'Lors Krishna Von Goloka' is most definitely a true piece of '70's recorded beauty. "Der Relgen" (16:57) has a rather odd charm to it - although one cannot help but to be totally drawn in by it's stellar mellotron and piano, as "Die Weisse Alm" (6:09) is more structured in a traditional sense + it possesses a good melody. Couldn't get enough of "Die Hoch-Zeit" (19:37) which originally took up the entire side two of the vinyl lp - which is notably well-played as well as maybe at times - poetic. Wanted to mention this title has been also reissued on vinyl lp several times now as a vinyl copy won't be tough to find. Looks like Golowin had played on at least one Cosmic Jokers title - 'Gilles Zeitschiff'. Recommended for fans of Wallenstein, Klaus Schulze, Witthuser & Westrupp and Walter Wegmuller.

To say that Golowin is "german Timorthy Leary" will be quite ept... he spoke on the psychedelic background music of Cosmic Couriers... somehow similar to music from Cosmic Jokers (of course, these are by the same crew) and quite meditative, but I find that it's overpolished so it lost the mood of the great Krautrock stuff. Better regarded as a New-Age precursor. "Die Hoch Zeit" is the high point of the whole album.
