Quique's wife is running around on him. As revenge when he catches a cowboy in their bed, she tells him he can't father children. As head of security for the cartel he would love to off her, but since she is his boss' cousin he can't.
When their head guy in London is shot, he is sent over to step in. There he meets Natalia, who is fiesty, has nerves of steele, an attitude and doesn't back down. She blackmailed him into helping her with certain 'job's ' that involve protecting her ex- family.
Her and Quique butt heads, but, when they aren't butting heads they get along well. Being involved in murder and abduction is getting to be the norm for Natalia. At some stage Quique sees the soft hearted, caring Natalia underneath all the steele and they get involved. They both understand that it's a fling. When it's over and Quique leaves for Paris Natalia is beaten up by guys who are looking for Quique, at the same time she is framed for attempted murder of her ex-father-in-law.
When Quique realises that Natalia is in trouble and that she could be a witness to all that has gone on, he puts her under his protection and gets her out of the country. While in Mexico, the cartel try to help by figuring out who had her beaten and was looking for Quique as well as who attacked her ex-father-in-law. They get the answer to the beating but not the ex-father-in-law.
Falling in love was never on the cards, but it has happened. Both know that they can't be together. Quique because he can't father children and Natalia because he doesn't want her.
When she sort of figures out who had it in for the ex-father-in-law, they head back to England. There surprise discoveries are made that change the course of events and they get a confession from the guilty party.
Do Natalia and Quique get their HEA? You absolutely have to get this book. It is bloody brilliant!! The story line, plots and twists. The complex characters of Natalia and Quique is amazing. Well written and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
Solitaire is a woman of Steele. She doesn't have a clean past but after what's she has been through, who can blame her. She does what she needs to in order to survive.
Arturo is the head of the Mexican Cartel. He doesn't have good luck with woman. They use him and betray him regularly. He is at the point if giving up on relationships.
When Arturo and Solitaire meet, it is not under the best of circumstances. A few minutes after them meeting she falls and hits her head. When she comes to, she realises that she has lost her memory.
Arturo decides he is keeping Solitaire with him. Shortly after that they are alerted to the fact that there is a rat and that this person's name is songbird. Unfortunately for Solitaire all fingers point to her.
This is their journey of trying to find out the truth, building up trust, dealing with betrayal and trying to build a relationship.
A brilliant book! Well done A.J. I have enjoyed each in this series. There is too much to say in this review about the book. You just need to get it yourself and journey with Arturo and Solitaire.
Chloe is a mule for a sadistic man. He took her when she was 16 and repeatedly brutalized and abused her until she was 18. Then he kicked her out and turned her into a mule.
Kyle is an enforcer for the Mexican Mob. His brother is the boss. He sees Chloe when he goes to visit his brother. She is collateral damage for a dealer who tried to pull one on the mob, as she was with him.
They are planning on playing with with her and then gangb*g her repeatedly. At one stage she manages to get away and runs smack bang into Kyle. She promises him a good fck and b.job. His brother promised him a bonus after he completed a job for the Cartel. After Chloe gives him his happy ending, he tells his brother he is taking her as his bonus.
Chloe goes home with Kyle and there starts their journey. Once he realises how broken she is from the virtualisation and abuse he slowly stars to 'de-program' her. It is full of ups and downs and getting to know each other. He saves her more than once. The last time from the man who brutalized her. He is too late and by the time he finds her she is in a critical condition. He takes revenge on the man by playing a mental cat and mouse game with him. Once he mentally breaks him, buries him.
This is a brilliantly told story. Chloe is pure magic. She has the greatest sense of humour and pulls Kyle out of his reserved ways a bit. Kyle experiences true love and loyalty for the first time in his life, he is head over heels. A magnificent book, beautifully told while dealing with sensitive subjects that may be triggers for some.
I voluntarily read this bundle ARC, and am giving my honest and unbiased opinion of the books as I experienced them.
What can I say about this author? I CAN’T GET ENOUGH!!! These three stories are so dark, so dirty, so sexy, so twisted and full of twists, they are increasable! Where does this author come up with this stuff? AJ Adams stories are gritty, violent, yet touching. The male characters are big bad sexy as hell alpha males who you DO NOT want to mess with and the females are strong enough to deal with them. I got lost in each and every one of these stories and crave more still. If you enjoy gritty, violent, alpha male, strong women stories, these stories are a MUST READ!! 5 down and dirty stars with 4.5 hands down the pants. Keep ‘em coming Ms. Adams, I beg you.
This is a collection of three stories that transports us into the violent world of the Los Zetas cartel, we have the chance to see a world very different from ours where violence is the normal for its members who spend their time living in the opposite side of the law.
These stories are told through the eyes of some dark characters, one is the leader of the group, one is the enforcer and one is a simple member, they are people who are not afraid to kill and torture in order to protect the cartel’s business but at the same time, they are still able to treat the woman they love with kindness.
But the heroes of those stories are not the only ones who are strong, all of the heroines might have faced a lot of pain and violence in the past, but each and every one of them were confident and strong women who weren’t afraid to fight back and do what was necessary to survive.
I enjoyed all three of the stories, I loved the action and suspense they had, I loved the characters and I loved the romance in them but I have to say that “Dirty Dealings” was my least favorite. I didn’t like the fact that Quique’s divorce wasn’t finalized and a done deal when he met the heroine, he didn't go back to his wife but that, plus the fact that he hired prostitutes after he met the heroine (even if he ended up deciding to not do anything with them) was what made me give that story 3 stars.
With that being said, “Dirty Dealings” had my favorite heroine, Natalie’s strength was a good match for Quique and it produced many funny scenes when she was trying to blackmail him.
