I noticed when I stop eating all grains, including oatmeal, and rice I lose weight without much effort. Of course, sugars of any kind are a problem too. I obtain the best results when I follow Dr. Furhman's or Doug Kaufman's eating plan. Dr. Furham's diet is more vegetarian, but Doug Kaufman allows meat. Both work.

With many of our foods being genetically modified the wheats we used to eat are the same as the wheats we eat today. This is the reason for the reactions so many people are having to gluten. Many children are sensative to gluten and mimic the symptoms of ADHD/ADD, all they need is a gluten free diet, not medications. Gluten can also intensify these symptoms in those who do have ADHD/ADD.
