From the Author
The books of the Portland Storm series are hockey romances, but they go much deeper than the sport of hockey. These books touch on real-world issues such as rape, cancer, miscarriage, bullying, PTSD, grief, addiction, and many other similar subjects. If you have triggers, be aware that these books may very well contain material which could trigger you. That said, I endeavor to tackle these issues with sensitivity and compassion.
Additionally, many readers have requested that I put a TISSUE WARNING on the books in this series. I've received notes from readers about every single book in the series, in which readers tell me how the characters and the story brought them to tears. You may not need tissues for each book--the story line that resonates most for you may not be the one that others responded to in that way--but don't say I didn't warn you.
On that note, I have another warning for you: my hockey players curse like...well...hockey players. And there is a fair amount of sex in these books. If cursing and sex aren't your cup of tea, these books probably won't be, either.

Best known as Babs little brother, Levi is afraid he'll always be in his brother's shadow. He feels as if this has been true his entire life and why should that change now? Of course he'd have to be drafted to the same team his brother plays for. Portland just can't get enough of the Babcock boys.
Cam has been a secret favorite of mine for awhile now. Ever since he helped Dana in Breakaway, I knew he had a soft spot. That soft spot is for more than just his wife and children though. His sister falls under that same protection.
Cadence has been hurt. Like many of the women in today's books, Cadence is no exception. She has been abused, hurt, and degraded. This leaves her unable to trust and afraid to love.
501 wants his chance to be the star. He doesn't even care if that stardom comes on or off the ice. And hooking up with a girl like Cadence is just the thing to rocket him into stardom--ahead of Babs.
What's the cost? Well, read the book. It's another great installment to the Portland Storm series and I can't wait to read the next.
501 and Cadence are wonderful characters and I'll be happy to see them in future books.
This book was amazing. So worth the wait for sure. It's the story of Levi Babcock and Cadence Johnson (you remember her....Jonny's little sister). Up to this point we have really only gotten snippets of Levi and didn't really get to know him. But we do now.
Cadence is an Olympic Medal pairs figure skater. She has recently left her partner and is in Portland working on a new partnership.
Levi, course plays defense for the Portland Storm and is the younger brother of Jaimie Babcock. He feels he is always living in his big brothers shadow and he isn't living up to his brother's 'perfect' life.
Let's just say this is an awesome book! I loved the fact Cadence made Levi work to be with her. I love watching Levi give Cadence the time she needed to come to terms with the issues she was dealing with. Even though he didn't what she was dealing with he gave her time to come to terms and to eventually share it with him.
This was a great addition to the storm series and I loved the appearances of the other Storm players and the introductions of some new up and comers.
I would definitely recommend this read.
This is book 8 in the Portland Storm series and Catherine Gayle does it again, it's anoth great Storm book.
Let me start by saying I LOVE Jamie "Babs" Babcock, I mean what's not to love, he's all innocent and blushing with dimples. Well I think Levi "501" Babcock is some stiff competition for his slightly older brother. He's a little bit naughtier but still has the blushing thing, plus a little dimple action too. I'm in trouble because their are 7 Babcock boys in total, who knows what they'll do to our hearts.
Our heroine is also someone we've seen before in the Storm universe, it's Jonny "Cam" Cameron's (book 4) youngest sister, Cadence. She's coming off a gold medal Olympic skate when we catch up with her.
I really liked that the relationship between Levi and Cadence started off slow, no major aggressive pursuing on the part of either main character, but there's definitely some drama along the way. I really enjoyed the fact that the drama wasn't based on misunderstandings about cheating, social media, tumors, reputations etc.
We also meet/meet again several characters that we've grown to love or hope to see in the future, which is something I always adore about this book series, it really does feel like the Storm is a big family and us readers can be a little part of that family. Now I can't wait to find out what's awaiting a few characters from this book.
