Product Description

As the lost boys and girls of San Cazador prepare to party under the Blood Moon, an alpha vampire conspires to turn these unsuspecting ravers into an army of undead. The only thing that stands between him and the annihilation of the entire human race is the infamous vampire fighting Frog Brothers. Armed with double-barrel holy water balloon launchers and multi-arrow crossbows, Edgar (Corey Feldman) and Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) join forces to kick some blood-sucker butt in this latest high-energy, action packed adventure in the Lost Boys franchise.

The Frog brothers--first launched as adolescent vampire slayers in The Lost Boys, Joel Schumacher's 1987 fang-fest--have weathered a lot of undead incidents in the years since then. Or so we are told in Lost Boys: The Thirst, a 2010 sequel that brings back original actors Corey Feldman and (less prominently) Jamison Newlander as Edgar and Alan Frog. The Frog boys are currently well out of the world of vampire hunting; Edgar, played by Feldman with all the growling crankiness he can muster, lives in a mobile home and peddles his vintage comic books to make ends meet. The Thirst posits a new threat, a drug made of vampire blood that, distributed at raves, can enlist hundreds of new vampires in the bloodthirsty army in a single night. The author (Tanit Phoenix) of a Twilight-like series of vampire novels has enlisted Edgar's help in stopping this menace, which gives Edgar (and the movie) a chance to rag on the Twilight phenomenon a bit: "There is nothing sexy about being a member of the undead!" While the film is limited by its straight-to-DVD budget and slapdash action sequences, it does earn points for these pop-culture vampires pokes, reality TV-bashing, and Lost Boys in-jokes. On the latter score, clips from the '87 film remind us of the past, including excerpts featuring the late Corey Haim, Feldman's frequent costar and something of a lost boy offscreen. This is a lightweight take on the material (when you hear a line like "this turns holy water into holy slaughter" you pretty much know what to expect), but as such things go it would have to be considered a savvy effort, and maybe the restart of a franchise. --Robert Horton

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Comeback! October 20, 2010
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Lost Boys: The Tribe was a horrible movie. It was a blemish on the Lost Boys' series. The Thirst is a major step in the right direction. This film is more of a Frog Brothers film than a Lost Boys film. It's more in the vein of a horror/action picture than a straight horror picture. Honestly, I feel The Thirst kind of has an Expendables feel to it, with a more comedic tone. Feldman and Newlander give very likeable and well-balanced performances. The girl who helps the Frog Brothers fight the vampires also does a great job, and I'd like to see her character reappear if a sequal is made. My only compaint with the Thirst is that the main gang of vampires look like bratty, rich-kid, reality show wannabees. This detail is kind of rectified though, but I won't say anymore. Go watch Lost Boys: The Thirst! It's a great direct to DVD Halloween treat!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Frog Brothers make the movie! October 15, 2010
Okay, I am not sure how a person would feel about this movie if they didn't grow up loving the original, especially the Frog Brothers.

Personally, I really didn't care for The Tribe. It seemed like they were trying to kind of remake the first one in a way but with a more modern twist. Frankly, I felt like that just didn't work. I had to get it though because it had Edger in it. I was so upset that they left out Alan, MY favorite Frog brother. The Tribe was just a huge let down to me like I figured it would be.

When I saw that they made The Thirst, I thought "Are you serious!? Another one?? How far are they going to try to stretch this?"; then I saw that Jamison Newlander would be in this one as well as Corey Feldman. Well, that did it for me. I had to see the original Frog brothers reunited! I must say, I really enjoyed watching it. The story line was a little corny, but doable. Most of the vampires all die the same way. I think 2 or 3 of them exploded without turning to ash. I didn't really care for the way the voices of the vamps changed when they were bearing teeth. But regardless, everyone keeps changing vampires over the years. Not much you can do about it. Everything was worth it to me just to see the Frog brothers back in action, kicking a$$ and making corny wise cracks when pushing 40. It was a riot! You can tell that Newlander and Feldman had a good time getting back in touch with those characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Im A Fan March 2, 2011

Ok so you know, I loved the first installment with the 2 Corey's. I'm a vamp fan ok.

Have now seen the second one, I loved it as well.

But it certainly was nice to see this one. It is different than the first, a bit campy in some places, but if you love vamp movies you will enjoy this installment for so many reasons - the memorial to Corey Haim, little flash backs to him in the first installment, they did a good job of showing Corey Feldman's missing his good friend wishing he was still alive and garnering strength from his relationship with Corey Haim's character Sam (such a great tribute). He was dead in this one and they let you know how he died.

Corey Feldman with his 'brother' Jamison Newlander in the movie certainly stepped up with lots of great thumbs up towards the first movie. At the end they introduced a female werewolf ... yeah!! I personally enjoyed it, hope you do too. And I wish to thank everyone for the nice tribute to Corey Haim, as I have always enjoyed him and Corey Feldman movies.

For those who like quality vampire theme entertainment without all the pretentious teen glamour bs then this movie is for you. A respectable vampire flick, a lil campy (intentionally) with some good action, consistent humor, and nostalgic references to the original Lost Boys movie without getting cheap on the story or action. The Thirst is a lot better than the "The Tribe" installment of the Lost Boys which was very light on the Corey Feldman presence and tried to rely on the Sutherland family aura to no avail. This movie however, you get to enjoy Feldmen and Jamison Newlander in all their Lost Boys glory and then some. I really enjoyed watching this movie. Left me with a good feeling which I dont get too often from watching movies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its fun 2 be a vampire September 15, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
It's the Living Dead Girl here, I saw Lost Boys when I was 8; it's the movie that got me into vampires and Corey Feldman (and I have loved EVERY one of his movies...and I'll admit...Lost Boys The Tribe wasn't the greatest...the biggest problem I had was that guy he was helping (I really think he should've stabbed him in the neck with the stake when he wanted his help (cause he was so annoying he didn't deserve it....and I didn't like the vampires at all (they sucked pun intended, and I'm real particular about that) also I loved his tattoo...but wish he would've had that in the third one (Sexy) and I loved the third totally follows the 1st and the Opening line....It's the attack of Grandpa Munster....awesome! And I can't swear on here so I can't say the ending entirely but the part where he takes down the Alpha with the spell and the dusting that cues the theme....awesome! Oh and for you readers who are keeping up the shoulder wound is the part where it's like in Graduation day on Buffy you know on 3, then she pulls the long bow arrow out? Great scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost Boys February 21, 2013

An interesting Spin for Corey to play in... But, I would like to see time for more plot to be written and the story to take shape in other areas. Didn't feel like I had enough time to get to know the characters around Corey's own. All in all it's a decent spin of the original.
