Good movie with a timeless, relatable story line

I love this movie. Even though I was born in '88 I can still appreciate this movie for its relatable story line about a mom with two teenage boys who goes to live with her father after a bitter divorce, the hot guys, the stylish (for the 80s) clothes, how it is to be young, naive and easy to get mixed up with the wrong crowd. Kiefer Sutherland (as well as the rest of the guys in his crew) was SO handsome and this movie makes for a great night-in movie.It also satisfies any horror-movie buff's hunger for some atmospheric and low-thrills horror. I like to watch it a lot just to see Kiefer and the oily sax man (I love the song he plays at the boardwalk!) It really does make me wish I lived in the 80s. What a great time for music and movies.

LOOOOOVE this movie. Classic for the 80s. Real special effects, though some today might see them as hokey. Well done for the time and a lot of fun. Definitely inspired Buffy (the TV show), all the way down to the makeup for the vampire facial changes. Fun one-liners, 'Goonies'-like humor, but also steamy 80's teenager lust and romance. Crazy over-the-top vampire violence. The climax gets a little hokey but the ending is awesome. You have to watch it to understand. The theme song is addicting, awesome music, dark, fun and sexy all rolled into one. I watched it 3 times in one week. It's like stepping back in time. Kiefer Sutherland heartthrob classic.

Love this movie when I saw it as a teenager and still love it. My daughters friend was telling her about the movie, so I rented it and we all watched it together. Still a really good movie and would be so excited if they ever decided to do a remake on it, the special features would be awesome now with all the technology we have now.

Classic 80's horror flick. Decent extras with a pretty good Blu Ray transfer

While the film is/was an 80's vampire classic, it still is enjoyable to watch present day. This Blu Ray version is an improvement over the up-converted DVD release. Though some close-ups looked smeary or painted with no pores or lines on faces. Black levels are very good and audio is better than it had ever sounded on any previous release of the film which includes a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround presentation.

Extras are carried over from the DVD but unfortunately are not in HD.

For fans of the film, this present Blu Ray is the way to go.

If you have not seen this, do yourself a favor, buy it and watch it over and over. What is not to like about vampires bases in Santa Cruz?! The music alone is fantastic. My hubby and I love this movie so I had to add it to our collection of awesomeness.

One of my favorite vampire movies of all time. Kiefer Sutherland is actually a really lovable villain type character, and Jason Patrick does a nice job as Michael. Plus, it has the Coreys in it, which makes it a clear win. If you like fun, campy horror movies, then this one is for you!

It's The Lost Boys, what's not to love? Had the bf watch this after stating he wasn't sure he'd seen it all the way through....whereas it was a childhood favorite of mine. Hindsight, after rewatching I found it amusing I was allowed to rent this from the video store when I was in 1st grade :) People are strange...

This I thought looked really good on bluray and I didn't have much expectations...great movie..however, I was a little nervous when I opened the case and saw the disc itself looked to be foreign. No movie title and unfamiliar printings and languages. It worked fine though.
