In order to not feel the loneliness after losing his mate, Drake Evers devoted his time to becoming extremely rich. The dragon shifter lives on a guarded estate on Blood Mountain, and the isolated location will hopefully keep anyone from discovering his supernatural abilities. Although Drake did not know about the existence of his twin teenage daughters until recently, they now live with him and will benefit from what he accumulates. When it becomes apparent that one twin has run away, making money is forgotten as all his focus is on getting her safely back. It does not take the distraught father long to realize the only person who can help is a witch from his past.
With its Appalachian Mountain locale and depiction of believable characters, THE LOST DRAGON is an enthralling paranormal romance. The twisty roads had me experiencing the area in its reality, and any individual featured came across as honestly genuine, regardless of their origin. Every mystical aspect is convincing, and I could easily envision Drake turning into a magnificent dragon. Tansy is a capable witch, and how she conducted her spells was fascinating. I waited anxiously to see if this couple would come to realize some important truths as the story progressed. There are several scenes where a situation turns very threatening, and outcomes are definitely not guaranteed. Debbie Herbert contributes an enchanting installment to the Bad Alpha Dads series.
I voluntarily reviewed the book, and all opinions are my honest opinion - 4.5 Stars
The characters were so well developed I felt like I’d known them my whole life. Drake is the epitome of Alpha male. He’s sexy, protective, and stubborn. And though he’s lost on what exactly being a dad means, it’s obvious he loves his daughters. So much so, his desperation for finding his missing daughter, Daphne, leads him to put his personal feelings aside and seek out help from a woman from his past. A witch who’s intelligent, sassy, beautiful, and knows how to keep Drake on his toes. I loved Drake and Tansy. The chemistry between those two sparked off the pages. And their banter had me laughing out loud.
Five stars! From beginning to end!
The story is fast-paced, the characters very believable and often heartwarming. The HEA ending should satisfy the most romantic of readers.
Ms. Herbert has a talent for painting a picture with her words and you can almost see the scenery as she describes. Another great book from a great author! I was given the chance to read an ARC of this book and chose to review it.
Wow - lots of danger and drama is this story of a missing teenager and a father's desperate attempt to find and rescue her. It was nice that they had a shared history of a missed love and that they had another opportunity for happiness. The story was well written and everything was clear and easy to understand. An enjoyable light read.
