Especially who are in any area of Ministry.... Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers and any others that fall under the category of Ministry! PEOPLE you are NOT exempt from this happening to you! In his book...David gives us a warning...a Wake Up Call...it grabbed my heart and made me see things in such a way...b/c that happened to me and my husband 9 years ago...and if someone would have had the gall, the guts, the courage and the fortitude to write what David wrote in his book....my marriage could have been saved! See people... Satan's mission is to kill, steal and destroy and Jesus came to give abundant life... We get our priorities all messed up when we enter the Ministry. Why is that???
God made marriage, family, then Ministry.... but Seminary teaches us and the religious world to put the Church and Ministry first! NO...God's order is God, then Spouse, then Family(children), then Ministry!
This book is NOT for the faint of heart! It is real...it is raw...it is life and it is exciting...b/c we see brokenness healed, marriage restored and a joy and happiness that no man can give!
Everyone NEEDS a copy of this book! David doesnt pyll any punches in this book. Itvgoes straight to the heart of the matter!!! Give it to your Minister or your friends in Ministry...or to the Ones who didn't know there was hope and help for them...like me and my ex! I pray God gets a copy into my Ex's Hands too! God is never late!!! Thank you David for being real with us and opening up your heart and life and spilling it out as a warning and an inspiration to all of us b/c...None of us are Exempt!!!
There are a MILLION books out there for the betrayed partners in an affair and I thank God for that. I do. And there are even more books about how to recover your marriage or prevent an affair from happening. But there are precious few books that describe the insanity, the destruction, the chaotic reality of living through an affair and David takes you step by step through his experience. Not to justify it, not to make excuses, just to tell the story. AND BY TELLING HIS STORY he is doing every single thing all those other books do AND one more. His story is powerful. It is a cautionary tale, it is a beacon of hope, it is a reality check, it is a map OUT of chaos and ONE BETTER. He doesn't cover up, sugar coat or preach, he simply tells you what happened. If you can't understand his pain, if you aren't broken and desperate and longing for a connection with another human being who makes you feel alive, and you've never been willing to feel anything rather than the slow and painful death of your own passion, then don't read this book. You are fine. This book is for the rest of us who have been so wrung out our give a damn broke. It's for those of us who know better, but found ourselves in a situation where we could feel the heat and the burn, but the pain seemed like a better alternative than the numb nothing we'd been living with for so long.
Thank you, David. I know you will save many people from going where you went and give hope to those who have and feel the weight of their own depravity. Your story will point others to the Healer. It helped me.
While I'm still in the midst of insane pain and uncertainly in my own marriage (my story may not end up like the Trotters), this book has allowed me to know that God STILL has a plan, is STILL in control despite my horrible actions and isn't done with me yet. Dave, thank you so much for exposing your sin publicly and allowing God to shine through your weakness. I have personally benefited spiritually from your journey more than you'll ever know. I appreciate you so much and your courage to risk it all by publishing the truth of your life. You have certainly been "true faced" about your journey and it has inspired me to embark on a similar path to reconciliation.
