About the Author

Liz is from bright sunny Queensland, Australia. She has always been a reader. When she was little she would be up late reading Garfield and Asterix comic books and also Footrot Flats. When she hit high school she read Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden and from there her love of books continued to grow. She always has a book to read beside her bed along with a note book for when inspiration hits at those crazy hours. She is a stationary addict and a one click addict. She loves everything books, authors and of course loves chocolate and lollies to keep her going.

Okay, so I have to say, this book was a hard read for me. I really had to push myself to finish it. There's several reasons, grammatical errors, the female lead was supposed to be strong, but seemed very immature. The book doesn't really even get interesting until the very end. It leaves off in a cliffhanger. I would normally purchase a second book right away, but because this was so hard to read I won't be reading any further.

I really wanted to enjoy this but just couldn't. I skipped through most of it when I couldn't take it anymore. Melodi and Corban's story was just too unbelievable for me. After a kiss in a club and a kiss on a sidewalk they're falling in love. She ends up being his PA, he tells her they can't happen, she gets upset, and then she's happy to be at his party. She's happy then angry then sad and he's...I don't know what he is. I don't know if he is supposed to be and alpha male character but he definitely isn't my type of alpha male. The synopsis drew me in but unfortunately I just couldn't stay interested.

I have to say that I loved every minute of the book. I was pulled in right from the start. This book has a little of everything you might want, heartbreak, suspense, heart pounding moments, fear. Very hot and emotionally charged encounters! Talk about having some really wonderful surprise in this plot!

Melodi, is a very head strong powerful girl. She knows what she wants, sets standards for herself, can she set some of them aside for the man she seems to have to have in her life.

Corban that sexy as hell man that walks in a room and cause all the women to swoon! This man is what most women would dream of! Fierce and powerful yet the most caring and wonder person to those he knows.

Hats of to Liz for an amazing book and job!!!

I'm beyond excited to read the next book in this series!

Oh my gosh I cannot believe my review was kicked back when I first posted it months ago! Epic Fail.
This one will be short and sweet.
This is a great debut novel! I was caught up in the story of Corban and Melodi and did not want it to end. The story has fun, lovable, relatable characters and mystery wrapped up in one. It is sometimes raw, emotionally and it brought tears to my eyes a few times.
The story line is unique in the sense that I haven't read it from any other book. The twists and turns keep hitting you. No matter how much I thought I figured it out, I am surprised and hit by another twist. It kept me guessing til the very last sentence and left me wanting more. I cannot wait for the second book!

I loved the suspense in this book! There is an innocence about Melodi and Corban that is refreshing. There are still some hot scenes, but done very tastefully! I also enjoyed the humor in this story. Liz Lovelock has done an amazing job, in her debut novel, of writing characters we can all relate to and love. From page one, you feel Melodi's pain and fall in love with her innocence AND spunk (the courthouse scene left me shouting, "You Go, Girl.") I also fell in love with Corban and his business demeanor. Their first meet is definitely one I won't soon forget.

I still have so many questions about their future. I LOVE the ending (that left me with my mouth hanging open) and can't wait for book #2!!!

I was gifted this book awhile ago by the author. I don't even know how long it has been, but I remember her asking me to consider leaving a review. Actually, now that I checked my FB messages, she gifted it to me in October 2014. So not too late, compared to other books I have that I promised reviews.

Anyway, the book starts off in a courtroom. From there we skip ahead to present day and how Melodi is still trying to cope with the loss of her sister. Although this book is mostly romance, it also holds the mystery as to what happened to Melodi's sister. I love books with mysteries, because it allows me to try and guess what has happened and predict what is to come. Although the love relationship is (to me) a little rushed, I found myself enjoying the relationship between Corban and Melodi. It wasn't too intense, with them saying "I love you" constantly like in other books I've read. That is a plus.

I had honestly expected more of a mystery/suspense book than I did a romance book, but it's okay. I don't read romance often, preferring books with romance as a sub-genre. And before I forget, I should mention Jacob is a slimy git. I would have done what Melodi did in the courthouse as well. He had it coming.

The appearance of someone important at the end surprised me. And that cliffhanger . . . I loved it. It's no secret that I love cliffhangers. It gets me to speculating about what will happen in the next book, which I intend to purchase whenever the author releases it.

Overall, I liked The Lost One and it gets 4/5 Platypires.

This book opens up introducing you to Melodi, a sister's grief. It makes you aware just how broken this family is because of what happened to their loved one and how broken they will be through out this book. Then Time fast forwards 3 years and Melodi is still broken but moving on and learning to be happy. Learning to live again. I adored this book and I am anxiously awaiting book 2!

We meet Melodi as she is grieving for her sister Abby. This gets you ready for how she will react to many things throughout the whole book and understand her reactions. She had just moved to New York a childhood dream she and her sister had had and now she is having to do it alone. Luckily for her when she gets there she meets Felicity or as she calls her Flick who takes her under her wing and shows her how to live a little. While out doing some of that living, Melodi literally falls into arms of the most handsome man she has ever encountered. He helps her up the stairs and they share an earth shattering kiss before she is whisked away by her best friend.

Corban Andrews is the CEO of Case Construction, and he has a problem trusting a woman's interest in him. Whether she likes him for his money, power, connections, or himself. When Melodi falls on him at the club and didn't have a clue who he was he enjoyed the moment. The kiss they shared was unexpected and startling in its power. Finding out who SHE was was just as startling, but not deterring.

They have a a rocky relationship from the get go. He has his issues and she has hers, but they can't stay away from each other. Then her world begins to crash around her when one of her greatest nightmares shows up. Not knowing what to do and choices have to be made. This puts a lot of strain on an already delicate relationship.
