About the Author

Isabella Muir is the author of Janie Juke series of crime mysteries - all set in Sussex. 'The Tapestry Bag' is the first in the series, followed by 'Lost Property'. Now - 'The Invisible Case' - the latest in the series is available for pre-order from Amazon.
The 'Janie Juke mysteries' are set in Sussex in the sixties and seventies and feature a young librarian with a passion for Agatha Christie. All that Janie has learned from her hero, Hercule Poirot, she is able to put into action as she sets off to solve a series of crimes and mysteries.
Isabella has also published 'Ivory Vellum' - a collection of short stories. She has been surrounded by books her whole life and - after working for twenty years as a technical editor and having successfully completed her MA in Professional Writing - she was inspired to focus on fiction writing.
Isabella's latest book is entitled: The Forgotten Children and deals with the heartbreak caused by the British policy of sending child migrants to Australia and other Commonwealth countries in the post-war years.
Aside from books, Isabella has a love of all things caravan-like. She has spent many winters caravanning in Europe and now, together with her husband, she runs a small caravan site in Sussex. They are ably assisted by their much-loved Scottie, Hamish. For more about the Janie Juke mysteries, and forthcoming titles, visit: isabellamuir.com

Review

'This was a great find. A librarian turns to sleuthing in 1960s England .... I really enjoyed the relationship she has with her blind ex-policeman father, as well as with her husband, Greg. A real page-turner. I've already bought the next book in the series and looking forward to being able to start on it. And hoping there will be many more to come.'

'This was a light and easy read where I got straight into the story. I really like the way the author depicted the 60s since I am too young enough to remember this era... but it is peppered with all sorts of nostalgia, the Beatles, the Vietnam War, not to mention colourful images of Woodstock and the hippie movement. I felt as if I was there!'

'1960s mobile librarian turns sleuth and channels Hercule Poirot in this great whoduunit that left me guessing right till the end. Intriguing detective story with lovely period setting and interesting characters. I'm looking forward to seeing what Janie Juke solves next. Love the relationship she has with her ex-policeman father.'

'Loved every page and didn't want to put it down...looking forward to starting the next one soon.'

'Once started you can't put it down!. Can't wait until the next one in the series.'

'Thoroughly enjoyable book. Kept me interested till the end. Looking forward to the next one. Well done.'

'The second in the Janie Juke series. Another intriguing mystery as Janie is hired to locate a woman last seen by her client during the Second World War. Once again we join the librarian in her investigation in late 1960's England. Now pregnant, Janie must again keep her sleuthing activities secret from her protective husband while she delves into solving the case for her client before time runs out. A very enjoyable, cozy read. I look forward to many more in the series.'

'I enjoyed this ...the glimpses into WW2 are particularly good. Solid writing, great story, and Janie as a character is growing on me. I hope there are more in the series.'

'I love how the characters have developed in this book which is full of perfect period details (the Italian food scene made me laugh) and twists and turns till the end. Will definitely be reading the next in the Janie Juke series.'
