I just finished this book and a lot of it is a jumble for me right now, but the things that stick out.... Stephanie, I still don't like her and I dislike her even more (if that is possible) in this book. I was in hopes that I wouldn't see her character again (I really hope Hannah doesn't come back btw James's ex-girlfriends are both heinous.) She is more stuck up and pretentious this time around. I curious to see what all it is that she learned when it comes to magic with the reveal at the end of the book.
When it comes to Levi.... He was a buthead in the werewolves’ series and an even bigger twat in this book. Though I was sort of happy with what happened with him near the end of the book. I wasn't expecting Abram's anger towards his parents and the choices he made, but that is one of the things I love about Reine's characters you don't really get all you were expecting.
The revelations regarding the demon houses in Dis were pretty freaking cool. I liked the last fight with the demon who owned the flesh farm (I don't remember her name atm.) it was nifty different.
The whole situation with Lincoln and Ben … whoa I wasn’t expecting that and thought it really, really neat. I feel sorry for Lincoln; I did when he was first introduced but even more now. I’m curious to read the War of the Alphas series again to read that glimpse of him again. It will probably have a different context to me when I do.
All in all, I'm incredibly pleased by the direction that Lost in Prophecy took The Ascension series. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely keep following the series!
I LOVE SM REINE!!!!!
Check her website for the order of her books and how they interact with each other.
So, she has several series, but they all interact with each other in some way or another. LOVE THAT, because your sad you want to know more about this person or this event, GOT IT in another series!!!
Anyways, LOVE her, LOVE all her books I've read so far, I'm rereading the ones in better order since I'm finally able to purchase more books so I can finish story lines (was jobless for a bit :( killed me that i couldn't read more than a sample)
The characters were all very one-dimensional, and the author has a bad habit of repeating the same lines and ticks over and over throughout the series until they have become thoroughly trite.
lost in prophecy is a twist from what we normally see with this series. Some answers are finally answered while new questions are coming about. I recommend this book and series to any lover of urban fantasy but I also suggest you start with the Descent series first then Seasons of the Moon Series followed by The Cain Chronicles and then The Ascension Series. You do not need to read them in that order but I believe you will get a better understanding of the whole story if you do.
