Well to be honest, I was expecting more from the story. I know that many won't agree with my opinion but here you have it anyway. For me, their story was just meh. Sorry.

The book started on a bad note for me, since Stone pushes Winnie away from him and makes her live for four years with this horrible family, who doesn't treat her right, like at all! They make it very clear from the start that she is just an outsider that doesn't belong in their pack. Sure, he thinks he's doing the right thing but I don't buy for a second that he couldn't have noticed something over the years. He mentions that he's been keeping taps on her and visited very often her home and can you expect me to believe he never, as an alpha, noticed that something fishy was going on. Common, be serious!

I admit, once he finds out that she is his mate, he does try to make up for the wrong he's done but for me it was just a little too late.It was funny and a bit frustrating to see him say the wrong things all the time. Thankfully we have his POV and we get to find out what he really meant to say. Also, he did redeem himself just a tinny bit at the end, when he confessed his feelings to Winnie.

Now, Winnie's character I liked. A lot! At first she lets her family (mostly her evil sisters) push her around and does their daily chores but she does have a plan to change her live, if her situation doesn't get better. There is nothing holding her back from leaving the pack, since she doesn't feel accepted. Of course when Stone marks her as his mate, she has to decide whether to stay and forgive him or leave for good. What I loved the most about her is that she really makes him work for her forgiveness.

This is book 3 in the Fairytale Shifter tales and this is one of the best , in my opinion. This is Stone and Winnie’s story. Beginning with a look into the past and then a shot right into the present.

Book three picks up where book 2 leaves off and we see that Stone and Winnie are mates. Now you would think this would make Winnie super happy as she has been in love with him forever but since he has never given her the time of day, she is heartbroken as she thinks this is just mate fever ruling him. But as the story progresses, we learn that there is a past between Stone and Winnie as he was the first one to find her and he has always cared about her, more than he portrayed. Winnie doesn’t know anything about this and feels like she will never fit in—she is the bear in a sea of wolves. Her foster family did their best to make sure she knew how unloved and unwanted she was, especially her step-mother and stepsisters. Someone needs to seriously smack these step sisters along with their mama...(hint hint)

In this story, we see how Winnie in previous stories was so into Stone but by this story she has practically given up and in previous stories Stone could barely give Winnie the time of day in public but would follow Winnie with his eyes but by this book he is so head over heels into Winnie and he realizes this is *HIS MATE*. He doesn’t care what people would or are going to say. This is his mate and is going to show everyone, her included, how much he loves her. I teared up a time or two but also, get ready for this to be a panty melter. Stone is such an alpha wolf.—I mean, yes, he is the head guy but he is so dominant and he wants his bear with such force. I loved how he was willing to step back and let her lead, even knowing how that is so not his way.

Overall Rating: 4 Rockin’ ★★★★

Can a lost little cub find her home among a pack of wolves? Will Cinderella meet her Prince Charming? In The Lost Slipper, a paranormal romance, we learn the answer! This is Winnie and Stone's attempt to find a happily ever after ending. Alexa Riley’s third book in her Fairytale shifter series is filled with action packed drama, true love and a sexy happy couple that find happiness. What more could you want in a paranormal romance?

Four long years passed by as Stone fought his wolf's instinct to be near Winnie. When she was found lost and with no memory in the woods, he immediately knew she was different, and it changed him forever. Winnie couldn't remember her life before being found and she craved to be with Stone, but he didn't want her. First, he found a family to take her in and then he didn't have time to even talk to her. Then out of the blue years later, he declares her, his! Interesting...

I was intrigued when browsing the new releases recently by this book. The title as well as cover caught my eye, and the synopsis piqued my interest as well. I was pleasantly surprised at the fast paced, quick yet entertaining story. It has a different twist surrounding shifters finding their true mates. It also delivers a twist for a future story.

This is a really cute story, it depicts a Cinderella version of wolfs and bears, short and sweet and to the point. Alexa Riley has become my new favorite author. I simple love her way of writing and how she is able to incorporate every detail and character personally in a very short story.

Winnie was found it the woods with no memory of where she came from or who she is. When Stone finds her as a cub he's immediately drawn to her and knows she's special. Little did he know that their encounter marked their lives forever. Stone knew Winnie is special but saw her as something he couldn't have so he pushed her away and told himself he was doing the right thing. For four years Winnie has lusted over Stone but was hurt by his cruel ways always wondering why no one wanted her. Until one fated day Stone realizes she is the one she is his mate. No longer being able to stay from her he opens up to her and makes her see why they belong together.
