About the Author
Jazzy Mitchell is a storyteller in many forms: writer, educator, editor, attorney—she tells stories, breaking down complex ideas in understandable, interesting ways. She taught English in the public schools of her hometown for a decade, giving back to the system that had helped her so much. During that time she trained and encouraged countless students to write poetry and explore their artistic sides. She likes to recount how law school drove the artist out of her, but over time her artistic instincts reasserted themselves. Besides writing, Jazzy teaches real estate law, writes fanfiction as Jazwriter, edits for other fledging writers, and practices law. In 2006 Jazzy joined the Lightarian Institute, a company that focuses on personal expansion and self-evolution, serving in a variety of capacities to support the organization such as the position of Director of Education. Over the years Jazzy has worked closely with licensees, editing translated manuals of different languages from all over the world. In September 2009, Jazzy published her first book, Castles Built on Clouds, a literary novel following three women whose lives intersect one fateful summer as they travel their paths toward self-evolution. She is currently working on the sequel, Forget-Me-Not, which takes place twelve years later. Jazzy loves to travel, spend time with her wife and children, play with her dogs, and capture the essence of life's journey in all its wonderful forms.

It was an easy read.
The only drawbacks are the lack of angst (the story is a little too sweet) and if you do not worship fashion, the clothing descriptions can be tedious.
Although it says 3 stars my actual review would be 3.5
She and Evelyn also don't spend much time together for the first quarter or so of the book, and yet once they do, it's just wham, instant falling in love, despite not really knowing much about each other outside of the work sphere. There's also not much drama in the story. All of their families and friends also fall in line with this relationship, even though it's far from conventional, and would be sure to raise some opposition.
The author also uses brief flashbacks to portray events that could have just as easily have happened in chronological order, which frankly would have been less annoying.
This is a fairly quick read with an interesting enough premise. It's a solid debut novel, and I look forward to more from this author.
