Sent the book to my sister, and she also loved it. It is so well made, a richness and quality in the size, the paper and print, and the binding.
Now I have a copy of my own and what a beautiful book! This is a treasure!
And I really hope John Macfarlane continues on this journey, and finds more lost words to share with us.
Those who say the book is too large are simply bonkers. The paintings are mesmerizing. Those who say the poems are too obscure for children simply don't know how to read poetry to children. Children are wired for the music in poetry.
"Rock rasps, what are you?
I am Raven! Of the blue-black jacket and the
boxer's swagger, stronger and older than peak
and than boulder, raps Raven in reply."
