About the Author

A.L. Jackson is the New York Timesand USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and new adult romance.

She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student.  She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.

Years later, she shared a short story she'd been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children.

Enjoyed the storyline and dove in. Lost in You didn't burst in flames at go. I absolutely adored how Elizabeth recalled her mom before leaving for school and how the sacrifices required amped up the stakes. In contrast, Christian didn't get much attention as a kid and grows up to be the guy who gets what he desires and Elizabeth is 'the girl.' But Elizabeth isn't about to be a notch in Christian's bedpost and he actually wants it to be different too. The story seeks to evolve as an attraction that grows. But without much of a story world or even sharp dialogue, or deep unique revelations, the story went from slow on lift-off to dragging. Yet the reviews were so glowing, I kept reading, but there wasn't anything much in play. Details were vague and the characters didn't do much except eat and study. It was if the author began telling the story and more and more, I felt distanced and disconnected from the characters. Even when, we're back inside Christian's head, it was stilted at times. "When she glanced at me over her shoulder, my chest tightened. The movement was pensive, searching. A small, thankful smiled tugged at one side of my mouth..." Another example, "I dressed in black dress pants, a dark maroon button-up, and a matching tie, then ran some product through my hair to maintain some semblance of style."
Maybe I'm wrong to read reviews. But without a book to thumb through, it's hard to judge a book by its cover. As an avid reader, I adore a well-told story. And L.I.Y has over 400+ reviews, which in my mind means a superb story that includes stellar writing. Clearly something is amiss. Especially, when a premise and blurb are tightly written and the story doesn't follow suit. More and more, I'm seeing this type of action.

AL Jackson is one of the most talented authors I've ever read. Her words have a way of reaching deep into your heart and not letting go.

I have to say that between this beautiful novella and the heart-wrenching yet uplifting novel "Take This Regret", Christian and Elizabeth's journey remains one of my all-time favorites love stories.

This book is the prequel story to Take This Regret that tells the story of Christian and Elizabeth meeting and falling in love with each other.

Overall, its the story of young love, a mistake, a regret, and a second chance at love but just the way its written, the words have a way of reaching right into your heart and not letting go.

I truly love stories that aren't perfect - where the characters make mistakes, learn from them, trip and fall down but make it back up even stronger than before.

For those of you who have not yet read this book, I would actually advise reading Take This Regret first. Despite this being a prequel to it, I personally loved knowing where Christian and Elizabeth's story went before reading this - it somehow gave it a lot more meaning. So, if you haven't yet read Take This Regret, I would suggest starting there. Its on my exclusive 6-star book list. That book touched my heart on so many levels, I can't even begin to explain it.

That being said, you could also easily start with this book on its own. It does work either way :)

I really want to emphasize how much I LOVE AL Jackson's writing style. Like seriously. With all my heart. I opened the first page of this book and literally just breathed this huge deep calming happy sigh because I just KNEW I was about to start a BEAUTIFUL book.

I read Taking this regret sometime ago and when i saw Lost to you i knew without a doubt i would be reading it. I could not wait to see how Christian and Elizabeths story began.

Lost in you is a WONDERFUL,Amazing story of Love, Passion and Friendship.

I was so consumed by this book that i still wanted more and more. A.L Jackson is a amazing writer one that makes you feel every emotion she throws into a book. She keeps you hooked from the opening line and sucks you in.

Christian is just someone you cant help but fall in love with, even knowing his past and how he never commited to anyone and had tons of one night stands it still doesnt make you stop falling for him. His life was planned out for him by his controlling father (whom i HATED).
He was to go to Columbia university to become a lawyer and take over his fathers practice and no matter what he done he was never good enough.

Elizabeth, well you gotta give her props. She has always dreamed of going to school in New York, and she worked hard her entire life to get there.

Christian wanted Elizabeth the first time he layed eyes on her, and although Elizabeth knew there was something about him and wanted more she fought hard to keep things safe. She didnt want to give her heart to Christian for fear of the heartache he was put upon her. But sometimes the want is just to strong to ignore. The heart wants what the heart wants.

The ending was perfect, it isnt a cliffhanger so it can be read alone but knowing what happens next it is a perfect start to lead you into take this regret.

so i just want to say to A.L Jackson:

You rock!!!!

A Definite must read to add to your TBR!!!!!!!!

Happy Reading
